Those people in need always find you when you're a nurse in or out of uniform. Once I was sitting in traffic and the driver in the vehicle in front of me had a massive seizure, went unresponsive right after she ran right into the back of the car in front of her. Did the "you! Call 911" to bystander with a cellphone out, got the door of her vehicle open by reaching in the partially rolled down window and unlocked the door, had her out in recovery position by the time medics and police arrived. The profession isn't something you can put on and take off. It's who and what you are in your heart and soul. Hope you continue to be an exceptional nurse who we can laugh and cry with in venting about our nurse life.
