I thought restringing my solar was gonna be a pain but its very simple. The only thing is that you have to have certain gauge stings for the specific tuning you want to use in order to utilize the bridge properly. Unless you want to buy low tension saddles. I have my Solar in C standard so i went from Ernie Ball mammoth Slinkys, which were bridge cable, to Ernie Ball Not even slinky which feel a bit better. I dont think ive tried the slinky top heavy bottoms yet. Gonna have to give them a try.

Wait what? I’m new to guitar so I feel stupid asking but does it really matter that much what strings you use compared to a normal guitar? As far as needing to change strings for tuning your guitar?
@LostAmongShadows Жыл бұрын
@@xaphan8581 it depends on what type of bridge ur guitar has. For Solars with the evertune bridge, u need to use certain gauges for certain tunings to properly utilize the evertune so that the saddles balance correctly and the guitar stays in tune. Other than that Solar also sells low tension saddles if u really want to tune low but not use those thicker strings. If u have a fixed bridge or a Floyd Rose the string gauge is more ur preference but the Floyd will need to be rebalanced and intonated based on what tuning and gauge string u choose. When u get more comfortable with ur preferred tuning and gauge, Id suggest going to ur local music store and getting a set up for ur guitar based on what tuning and gauge u normally play in.

What's that spray you used to clean your fretboard?
@beefnacos62582 жыл бұрын
Just get fretboard oil. Stop worrying about what other people are using. If that's not the case and you're just legitimately curious what to put on your fretboard it's called fretboard oil. AKA fretboard conditioner. Dunlop makes a good one and music nomad. You're welcome :)... Also don't use as much as he did that's absolutely ridiculous. Unless he's using something different but I wouldn't recommend it. With a drop, literally one drop on a microfiber cloth and usually one to two drops can do your whole entire fretboard.

@@beefnacos6258 i dont care what other people use on their fretboard haha. I just never really clean my fretboard, and it's getting a bit disgusting now. But fretboard oil, and the one from Dunlop. Only a few drops for the whole fretboard. That's very good Info right there. Thanks a lot mate

My neck relief never changed no stability changed absolutely nothing changed..... It's definitely one of the biggest myths ever when it comes to guitars. Now this isn't a myth. If you take the strings off and you let it sit for a long period of time then when you go to restring it then yes it could be off. You might need to readjust the neck etc. You're welcome people. You can come back and try to debate it all you want but I have tested this for the past 20 years with God knows how many different guitars and I have never had a problem...

I recently put new strings on my guitar (Solar S1.7PB) with a heavier gauge than the stock strings. I planned to detune with the heavier gauge strings. When I went to tune the instrument everything fell right back into place and even the intonation was even correct in the lower tuning. It was one of those times where you feel like somebody from the 1500’s seeing electricity for the first time or something like that. It honestly blew my mind.
