I destroyed all those sets/have a bin now to learn and practice building MOC’s, but after watching this video, I’m totally motivated to rebuild them and stay optimistic at the same time! I understand the annoyance and enjoyment of this, during Lockdown, me and my family did this for all 97 of my sets, all were broken and in 2 huge bins and 2 smaller ones. All of them now have a place on the shelves in my bedroom, it’s always fun to see people’s reactions to the Lego draping my room. It was a great family building task and ended being my favourite memory of Lockdown, love seeing others doing this as well. Thank you so much for reminding me of that time of light in such a dark time.

That's honestly a super cool family project. And 97 sets?! That sounds deserving of a spot in the Guinness book of world records
@Vega_Fei6 ай бұрын
Yeah, it was great fun, took us 4 months in total because we had to order some new parts that had unfortunately been lost to the vacuum cleaner. Not sure 97 is record worthy, but it was a lot to do, especially some of the huge sets we had to build.

From my experience, a Rubbermaid Roughneck 10-gallon bin filled halfway is the best for Lego Storage, so the weight of the pieces don't damage the other pieces as much as if you use a bigger bin. And I have 3 bins dating back to the 80s (though it was 9.5-gallon Keepers from Rubbermaid, but still roughly the same size and shape as the roughnecks), and got 3 more recently. However, I will say, if you enjoy MOC Building, then having a few bins is a good idea!

I did this exact thing during lockdown, resurrecting around 45 sets over a two year period. Including Power Miners, Space Police, Star Wars and more. My proudest one was the 2008 Death Star, which was a dusty husk tucked away on my shelf. I took it apart, cleaned the parts, found what was missing (around 700 pieces) and put it back together. I have to say, I love my Lego shelf far more now that it encompasses my entire journey. (Though I did have to later part down some models for spacing reasons). It's totally worth the effort.

Dude, I have a bin but I did it on purpose. I actually purposely this assembled the Lego sets as I don’t have enough space but in the end I take all the pieces and make gin Ormus colossal built such as once I’ve made a Air Force one the size of my room, not really my room, a quarter of my room, but it was massive and then I turned into a house. Another time I made a gin ship, which had a hidden compartment inside where Lego mini figures could be stored, and then another time I made a little roll weapon place, and then all of those were breakdown purposely into the bin, because then I could reuse the pieces later to build something more epic, so instead of losing them, I repurposed them
