In Italy, Eastern Europe and other countries in Europe, if someone dies at home, family does not even involve funeral home. Family buys a coffin and prepares the body for viewing and funeral with assistance of the church. I lived in Italy in 90s and went to a couple of funerals. In both, the viewing was at home, and then from home a funeral procession was formed and we all walked behind the coffin to the cemetery.

You arent doing my heart any good Dan, I was worried for your wellbeing a few times there!. Glad you survived both the cemetery and, Naples, (dangerous city that so I'm told, though 'speak as you find', and since I've never been there I might be a bit ingenouse saying that. My apologise Naples!). Mostly I think you deserve a pat on the back for going straight to filming after that early flight (and for trying to astound that worker with your French lol). Take care and be safe in the madness of those roads/streets, keep your head on a swivel crossing them. We don't want to see a 'Dead good personal fast and furious starring Dan'. xxx Looking forward to your next vid xxx

Thanks Fi, Nice to hear I did a good job despite the early flight. Not many will realise what time I had to be awake for a 6am flight. As for Naples there are a lot of undesirable around but they leave you alone from my experience. The litter everywhere makes it feel worse than it is too.

1) if you are in a place you are not supposed to be at, act like you belong there. 2) carry around a sheet of paper with some writing on it. 3) If someone confronts you, act like you are happy to see them and start asking them stuff. 4) have a vague background story ready.

I would love to have window grates like that at 3:55 on this video! 15:44 is typical of european burials. Families use the same crypts by moving the bones into a sack or box, then add the new occupant. Then in a few years time, repeat the process. The ground is honeycombed with columbariums, crypts, mausoleums' and such to where there is no solid ground to put the train!

that chapel may be a bit worse for wear, but you can appretiate how beautiful it is and that you can clearly see the colors of the stained glass windows. these walks are still oddly very calming. probably because i find the nature growing and the beautiful architecture so amazing. it just draws you in and makes you want to explore for oneself.

In the early 1950s my Father was in the US Navy, they went to Naples and he told us many years later, Naples is the armpit of the World ! Men were selling their daughters on street corners! This was before he was married and had five Daughters of his own! 🪬🧿♥️🧿🪬
@Olivetti395 күн бұрын
@@evelynpretty2231 your father was mocking you, as Naples is anarchic on the outside (hence the chaos and disorder, worsened by immigration) but extremely conservative - especially back then - regarding the family. The current western moral decay dates back to the US cultural revolution (let's say cultural) of the 1960's, then spread in Europe, given the post war geopolitical balance

I don’t know what they were thinking in building a city of the dead and then deciding to not care for it. They are ashamed of the mess they made and don’t want you to expose it. But the state of this place is just so disrespectful to all of the people who trusted them to care for their deceased loved ones.
