I love mine. It is just for home practice with headphones and demo recordings, though. Never going to sell my tube amp.

I think that use case is where it does really well. I have a studio space and can turn an amp up all day and night so I'm not needing a silent solution.

@@averagejer I usually play guitar at home when my kids are at sleep, and I also wanted something with bluetooth that was a bit more inspiring than the Fender Mustang Micro. The transpose made it easier to play to different tunings also. But I have no desire to go digital in my band, or in a live setting, though. I do agree with the USB-C, I actually bought a cable before I got it, cause I was shure USB-C was an option. As I’ve understood, the Boss IR-2 works as an interface for IOS too, for stuff like easy recording in Garageband. I would’ve liked that, but using my own interface worked fine, just a few more cables.

Thanks for your review i was on the fence about buying one, now i am leaning more toward ToneX

You should have waited for NAMM. Once the Banks become Performances and the Performance name shows on your phone or tablet you have your screen and you know what Performance you're in, without wondering about colours. Afterall you're only changing Performances between songs...that's if you use more than one Performance at a gig.

I don’t want to have my phone on and connected to use as the kemper screen for an entire live gig. I’m ok with that in the studio, but not live.

Are there any news about the update for the Player after Namm?

You can also add a midi controller with a screen that will give you the patch name, if you really need it.

To me, the Helix Stomp is even further away from sounding like an Amp in the room than the Kemper. The Line6 Software though is top notch and the updates they still bring outstanding. But strictly sound wise i prefer the Kemper (and the Tone-X).

Had the HX Stomp for a couple years. At the end of the day it just sounds like garbage. Digital af..

I choose an amp over both, but in my last video, as many people chose the stomp as the two rock and Kemper in a blind test…

@@averagejer Yep, I guess it’s a personal choice. Where I’m at right now makes me prioritize mobility and convenience over the real amp sound, specially cause I’m playing both bass and guitar in different projects so It would be a nightmare for me to afford and carry cabs and heads up and down.

@@averagejer I didn't realize that kids listening to a youtube video on their iphone 8 speakers was the barometer for tone. Damn bro.

It would be cool if they offer a detachable screen that would connect to one of the usb ports

A screen like your cellphone or tablet? They'll both connect to the Player wirelessly no need to use the USB port...because the Player is a WiFi access point.

Final thought: People, don't listen to this guy. He isn't you, he isn't making content for you, this isn't relatable. People buying the kemper player aren't going to be people with studio spaces and tens of thousands of dollars in heads and cabs. The fact that he doesn't have the wherewithal to understand this is a billion red flags. Ignore him.

@@averagejer You've been doing this for a long time and you have less subs than my wife's grandma who posts videos of her walking around with no audio. That's the level you're at. I mean this sincerely, I can fix your channel. You're doing a lot of stuff wrong and most of it is easy to fix, 95% of it is showing this video to 5 people who are in the music industry in London/Berlin and none of us could figure out who in the hell this video was for. You don't know your audience, you don't have a voice. You're obviously not stupid, so where's the block? is there something you want to say but you're not saying it? Who have you had put eyes on this from an objective standpoint? Have you considered consulting? What is the point of your channel? I owned a streamer management company that I founded in 2012 after graduating college that was meant to sponsor their fledgling esports attempts, I sold it in 2018 along with my clients to one of the two big players and I now do full-time content consultations, largely with korean and japanese clients. This was my job for a very long time. I'm gonna have to wrap up here because this poop is almost over (had Moroccan food last night, im struggling) but it gave me time to reply properly. Sorry for the shitty messages but when I see a dude that's so close just fumble at the goal line it drives me nuts. There's probably projection there, but who's counting? Either way, don't stop. Write more scripts, record more dry runs and watch it back. Literally write down the name of a fictional ideal viewer, name them, what do they need, etc.
