It's bizarre too, since bricklaying properly is much easier thanks to plastic spacers etc. Main issue is then is speed and finish and yet somehow they've fucked it all up. Couldn't even use plastic inserts for the weepholes which makes spacing and avoiding getting mortar in them child's play.

This is reminiscent of some properties in Snowden Avenue, Sutherland, New South Wales, that we have investigated previously; in our limited capacity as we were defending a tenant from their malfeasance. The builder, developer, and real estate agent were all working together to build and sell properties that were ultimately not compliant with NSW building regulations; the real estate agent was also the brother of the developer/vendor which is also unlawful in NSW.

We really need laws to allow buyers to withdraw from a contract with a full refund if a property is found to have several major defects. Builders need the threat of bankruptcy from a poor build and tradies not getting paid for their work so they'll get serious about quality and compliance. An insurance scheme also needs to be set up to allow suppliers from those failed projects to be paid to protect them from the fallout of the builder's incompetence.
