I reverted to Islam and I have almost no friends

I wish I could say the same exact number.... But even me, in a "Muslim" country. I can only say that the Hadith of Muslims being like the foam on top of ocean water, is true today... You could at least say that maybe 20-60% of us are at least trying to act like Muslims (not just by name).. which is still 400M to 1B Muslims, which is still good Alhamdulillah. I'm not trying to play down our numbers.. But, I just want to be realistic and say that the possibility of finding a Muslim brother/sister that will truly help you out, sacrifice for you just for the sake of Allah, is not 100% of the 2B.

islam is a religion that is social . I did not realise this I thought it was about solitude but then I considered why we are encouraged and have to pray at mosques and not at home . We have to socialise and build a community and not be alone

There are times, when muslim must socialize (wedding, funerals, dining, all with relatives, friends & community, prayer at the mosque, religious class), but there are actually times muslim are in alone situation. For example, doing sunnah prayer, revision of the quran, reflecting yourself, etc. If you have doubt, or question, of course you have to find somebody knowledgeable to refer to.

I had similar experience. When I reverted all my so called friends left me. Its how you know you have found the truth. Its like when you turn on the lights, the cockroaches scatter. You have an umah of brothers and sisters. You are not alone. I will not trade my Islam for nothing! Keep up the faith. Walaykumsalaam brother.

Attend the mosque regularly and in Shaa Allah you will make some friends or maybe some brothers can put you into contact with other reverts, as you will have more in common with them. There are groups for reverts, so hopefully, someone at the mosque can put you in touch with some or provide the links.

No more pubs and clubs, the isolation can be rough, I found in the sisters section a lot of bullying, it’s quite bitchy and controlling, all the new Muslims and many born sisters have said the same. The organisers of the local masjid are quite bitchy and gossipy. So it’s tough… so I sit alone
