Well-played AK at 4:00, your thought process is 100% correct that you do not want to be isolating pros and it has the added bonus of inducing squeezes from players who try to take opportunistic dead money (as you found out). It is likely that your opponent had a mid-to-high pair, but I also think it is possible he had Axs or AJ/AQ in which case you have him completely crushed.

I have an opposing view to isolation. I feel like the better pros will fold out hands with equity, and the recs will always call low value hands that “look pretty” like suited 1 gappers, KQo AJo etc so you fold out stronger players equity while isolating a weaker range vs weaker players. That’s just how I think about it.
