i don't think you NEED to finish a chunk in every new episode. part of the fun of this series was getting EXTREMELY acquainted with yanille over several episodes! if the sorcerer's tower takes more time, then it takes more time. take breaks and take care of yourself.

I wholeheartedly agree... I'd rather shorter videos and more of them. I forgot what on earth went on in previous as the uploads are so far apart. 20 mins every 2 weeks would be great I think, even if you haven't finished the goal, just check in and update. :) keep up the good work.

Also agreed... but not everyone wants to watch slower montages. Personally when I watch an OSRS progression video I want to see EVERY level and EVERY boss loot. It never gets boring to me because I'm engaged in their progression and like the suspense with drops.

I love the fact you're not doing implings. one problem i have with most challenges is that implings trivialize most of the challenge, (except tileman since you have to burn tiles to catch them) Honestly wasnt sure how you'd tackle em, but im glad you decided to go the way you did (also commenting before I finish the video so yea)
@bloomleaf8310
@bloomleaf8310 2 ай бұрын
I mean honestly chunk by chunk isn’t really a “challenge” that implings help with, to be totally fair the only thing they would have any bearing on is time. If he is willing to dedicate the time to do it regardless it’s not really much of a challenge, at that point it’s extending the time he’s in a chunk which is his prerogative but this isn’t something he can fail and that imps would help with. Also as funny as the video was claiming it’s great that he’s staying true to the spirit of the challenge by forgoing implings rings pretty hollow after abusing trawler to get out of that chunk.
@cephelos1098
@cephelos1098 2 ай бұрын
The issue with implings (in my eyes) is that they give you such a broad variety of items that, while they might not immediately accelerate the account, they'll make a ton of chunks have nothing left to gain, when that chunk could have potentially had something more interesting than clicking on dudes in a wheat field for weeks. Josh didn't have to throw shade, but I agree with his choice.
@bloomleaf8310
@bloomleaf8310 2 ай бұрын
@@cephelos1098 i would be super curious what that could even apply to, the only things i could even kind of get close to is if he rolled a glory from the dragon impling, smithing a mithril bar, and cooked karawbwan does not seem all that destructive to me in terms of chunk tasks unless i'm really missing something on the imps loot tables. its also why i kind of take exception to him saying implings would give him access to all the bows he wants since the only impling that can even roll a bow to begin with is the lucky impling. honestly his comment about this is a total omission of the truth and just pulling the wool over the viewers eyes, he would need 18 more levels and to actually even find and catch a lucky impling to even have this come in the same universe as an issue no other impling in the game has a bow on the drop table. i have no issue with him not wanting to catch them but i hate that he is trying to hedge off people asking about it by lying about what is even possible to happen and even addressing it instead of just saying he does not want to and moving on.

I don't mind him skipping the implings. I follow or have followed at least 5 different one chunk series beskdes this one, and 4 of them have done the impling grind. It's getting old - I'd rather have him get stuck on a grind unique to his account
@bloomleaf8310
@bloomleaf8310 2 ай бұрын
@@exantiuse497 i mean like i said its fine if he wants to skip it, part of my issue is with what he used as the example, hes not even in the ballpark of close to an impling that can drop bows, ya watching people grind implings is boring and everyone does it, but he decides to act that somehow lessons his account but was willing to abuse a mechanic to skip fishing trawler. i really just wish he had either said he did not want to do implings and left it at that or not mentioned it, cant imagine many people would have even noticed.

I always found Puro an annoying grind for chunkmen, it's a tipping point that suddenly makes them all very similar. Instead of making this (kinda) arbitrary decision to fully skip them until whenever, you should lock it behind Zanaris where the permanent portal is. Catching all the dragon imps and getting those upgrades will likely still have some relevance by the time you get there, and it'll feel more satisfying to backlog it (similar to how some chunkers backlog farming behind tithe)

Just adding in to support this. Puro-puro is a long, tedious grind that slows down progression into new chunks and like other people have said, homogenises chunk-men a lot. I don't mind the fact that it makes things easier in the long run, more that it makes it that new chunks are less exciting because there's a good chance there are no more BIS items or useful drops- because an impling almost assuredly has something better.

Speaking as an outsider to RS, you have a much smarter and more interesting perspective on one-chunk than most. Implings and other purely-random interactions just do not actually make for an entertaining series, it's an enormous uncontrollable time-sink that hurts to watch and isn't fun. Having Puro-Puro be functionally off-limits is a good call.

I respect the decision to ignore implings. I agree that what makes one-chunk accounts so interesting is the unique and odd best-in-slot gear you have available based on your chunks. It makes all those little upgrades feel fun and rewarding. If you allow implings then as soon as they are unlocked you are able to just upgrade to the same pool of bis gear that every other one-chunk has, making your specific chunk progression a lot less unique and interesting.

As a computer science nerd and programmer I really want to see what the infinite loop failsafe code does... I mean, it could literally be a "if the last x runescript executions are identical, crash to desktop", but it couldn't be truly detecting loops because of something called the halting problem. In generalizable terms, it is not possible to write code that takes an input of some code snippet and tells you if the input code is going to run forever or eventually stop running. It's an undecidable problem and literally cannot be done and you can easily prove this: imagine a program that could somehow do the halting calculation being inverted - if the input runs forever the new program halts, and if the input halts the new program runs forever. Now imagine running this inverted program on itself - if it halts then it runs forever so it doesnt halt so it should halt so it should run forever.... uh oh! This paradox shows this program must not be logically possible.

It's probably just a timeout or "if the generated code is larger than this many lines." The Halting Problem isn't relevant here because you can see very clearly they detected a false positive, so they're not even trying to do something that close.

On the upload schedule front, IMO just let folks know if a video is going to take a while and then give it the time it needs. Grinding hunter on my iron has been my favorite grind so far. Only skill I've been able to grind from 1 to 80 in one go. I get sick of the grind long before that with other skills. Nice to see someone enjoying it as well

I hear that the heinous villains who tricked you into ruining your chunk account are still at large! I'll be on the lookout and we will bring them to justice!

so happy you arent doing the impling thing man. i always thought that was such a silly way to get around chunk rules! i understand its your own rules and you can do whatever you want, im just glad your thoughts align with mine on this.

Flip hills was such a fun area when Hunter first came out. Before the meta was just “catch exploding hamster then exploding hamster 2” there were so many folks just focusing on butterflies or the jungle cats etc. sure it wasn’t efficient but working your hunting areas over others was fun

That sorcerers tower was one of the first places for magic trees in runescape classic. Was always a hot spot. It became popular again in early 07 scape when the other areas were too busy. Grand tree was another OG magic tree spot. 🤓

Theres a spot in Kourend i found that has exactly 27 tiles to burn willow logs with 2 willow trees next to each other so you never have to move. Its by the second bridge west of the docks in Kourend

Why were you not required to get the Hunter cape when you rolled the cape seller in feldip?

My opinion on Implings; If you find them outside of puro puro randomly (not specifically hunting them, world hopping or anything like that), they should be fair game. They spawned in one of your chunks after all.
