Hey Lauren! I know there's a slim chance you'll see this, but I have to share the best thing my wedding planner suggested for my husband and me. At the end of the reception, have all the guests clear out of the venue. While everyone's being lined up and made ready for your exit, you and your partner have one last slow dance together in private (well, with your photographer and DJ, too). It was incredible - we'd been riding the high all night, partying and enjoying ourselves, and this dance gave us a chance to really embrace the fact that we were married. We both cried (I sobbed) and just held each other. That moment of release and love is one of my favorite memories, and the pictures make me tear up every time I look at them. It was the best "finale" for the night.

I've only been to a few weddings but one memorable thing I remember from one of them was their giving out of a little succulent to each guest which also had which table they were supposed to sit at! I think it was such a cute idea. Beautiful dresses! SO SO happy for you!

I used to intern through high school and college at the best wedding venue in my city and noticed a few things/saw how guests reacted to certain elements so here’s a few: 1. Candles always elevate things- you could have zero flowers and just a fuck ton of candles and people will think it’s the best design they’ve ever seen. 2. Chocolate shots. One time my entire reception job was just to fill chocolate shot glasses with baileys and kahlua. Every guest loved it/kept coming back for more, and it really got the first hour of the party going. 3. The bride and groom have zero time to eat. The best ways I’ve seen this deal with is either a private meal for the bride and groom before the reception or sneaking away after the dancing starts. My reception job has also just been to follow the bride and groom around and make sure they have food close as they’re greeting guests and always have a drink in hand. Congratulations!! Whatever you choose to do, as long as you plan for the two of you, it’ll be the best time ❤

Coolest wedding I’ve ever been to was in a science museum in Nashville. The ceremony was in the planetarium and they said I do under the stars 🥹 the museum was closed for the reception so all of us guests just got to wander the science museum all night! Best part is they had Moes come set up a nacho bar later in the night once we were all a little lit. A beautiful sight! A beautiful time!

I know you're vlogging a lot of your planning journey, but in the event that you don't film a dress shopping trip, I recommend having a friend take pictures of you. I loved EVERY dress I put on because I had never worn a fancy dress, so having pictures helped give me a different perspective.

Specifically the villa: it’s a Spanish Colonial architecture with aesthetic courtyards, water fountains, arched entryways, curved columns, tiled staircases, and prodigious use of ironwork, which add grace and drama to the crisp white façade bathed in bougainvillea!!!!! It’s such a stunning venue!

A couple things that are helpful or super cute Imo, 1) when figuring out seating charts, use 8x10 pages with the table numbers, and sticky notes with each guest's name. You can move them around easily until you're happy with it. 2) put a bottle of wine with a blank label with a table number and have your guests write on them. Then you can open each number for that anniversary.
