i'm a new player, i wanted to ask what does pity mean? and what happens if you get a 5* before a soft pity?

Oh boy are u new into gacha game? Hahahahaha. Pity refers to amount of pulls you must do to get a 5* in general. But in hoyoverse game, there's another hidden system which players called the 'soft pity' where between 75-80 pulls, there's a very high chance for you to pull a 5* (max pity: 90 btw). This doesn't apply to character banner only but also lightcone banner (soft pity: 65-70, max pity: 80). If you managed to get a 5* before even the soft pity, that just means you're extremely lucky as there's only 0.6% for that to happen lmao. Hope this explains enough for you to understand :)
