Just saw Green Day last night in Detroit. Just an amazing show from start to finish and the energy was absolutely incredible. I was pressed up at the barricade of the catwalk and it was just magical, and yeah I definitely wouldn't take any other seat. I went insane during Burnout, Waiting, St Jimmy, 2000 Lightyears Away, Minority, and Jesus. Funniest part of the concert was 12 year old came up and sang the final verse of Longview, so now I can say I've seen a child say "fuck" and "masterbation" in front of a crowd of hundreds.

I totally relate to your experience!I went to a Green Day concert for the first time this year too. I bought tickets to the show in Berlin and it was the BEST SHOW EVER! My husband and I had a great time jumping and singing along like maniacs. I also cried in "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"... I remembered my teenage years and it was such an intense feeling... The whole arena sang by themselves the chorus part. It was amazing! I also got super emotional in "Are we the waiting", it was like a chant. During the concert I couldn't believe I was there. You see, I'm from Brazil, so it was pretty complicated to go to see them, but it was worth it and I would do it again. Actually, I will! In June I'm travelling to Sweden to see Green Day again. The best band in the world.

When I saw green day back in February in good ol' Leeds, I was in a crap place, I had depression, I got dumped by my girlfriend, I had no friends, everyone was bullying me, then I heard "do you have the time! To listen to me whine!" And I shouted as load as I could along and I cried because I had a pure moment of pure joy and I was well, happy ever since, I started playing guitar, I know have 3, one called Simon, one called Chris and one called billie joe and I've started gigging, im happy and I say "hey, that's because of green day, fueling me from one night to 9 months later, I'm still breathing, and it's because of my favourite band and the best band on the planet, thank you green day Love from, Jack (the resident fender nerd)

I have believed for a long time now that concerts are one of the best experiences in the whole world, especially ones from artists or bands we really love. A concert is the purest form of celebrating music, with their creators and with other people who love it as much as you do or even more. Very few things are more beautiful in this world than thousands of people singing together. Pretty much everything you described I felt the same after a handful of concerts with my favorite musicians.

I went to that show in Pittsburgh, too. That's also my first Green Day show and it's been my dream since 15 to see them live. That show was really awesome, I literally cried at the end of the show. I'm seeing them again this August

I saw them in June and that was the time of my life. It was my first Green Day show, but not the last, it's for sure. I had the same impressions and emotions as you did. When I arrived home at the middle of the night, I could not sleep, just laid in my bed and sang their songs till down :) I waited for seeing them for so long, and I swear it was a life changing experience for me. And that night was special for one more reason. As it was Father's Day, that was the first time since 2014 that Billie sang Wake me up when September ends. It was so emotional, that I cried.

It was nice watching this video about your experiences. I was also at my first Green Day concert a few weeks ago. I've known them since around 2001 or so when I was 13. One of my best friends had the International Superhits album so we knew all of their famous songs (we had know idea what they were about though). And then we were surprised when American Idiot came out that there was new Green Day music. I enjoyed every album ever since and when they finally returned to Hungary after a long time I was able to see them for the first time with that same friend. I didn't know what to expect but seriously this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Two and a half hours, very energetic and fun. They clearly still enjoy playing music.

I went to see Green Day live in Raleigh on September 1! It was an amazing concert, especially being not only my first Green Day concert but also my first concert ever. I actually missed the first few songs, since the traffic was absolutely horrible, though I could hear them from the car. I got to my spot right as they finished Holiday and started Letterbomb, which is one of my favorite songs ever. The weather had been bad throughout the day but cleared up a bit as the concert started, and although you could see lightning in the distance the rain held off for most of the concert. Singing along and head banging to Jesus of Suburbia right as the rain started coming down was one of the most amazing moments I could have imagined happening at a concert, I can only hope that I get to see them live again sometime in the future.
