@nuancedhistory Жыл бұрын
@@B3Band yeah Enter Shikari dropped their first singles and first album in 2003/4, right when I See Stars formed, who themselves put out their first EP in 2005/6, before Attack Attack! or Sky Eats Airplane. Although they also will tell you some of their sound came from RuneScape (you can actually get their old RuneScape Inspirations track now, it's been put out on streaming services). That being said, ISS were the first to use autotune "T-Pain" vocals and the first to use Dubstep rather than Eurodance/Trance/Techno/Bittune. Although the first to introduce any electronic sound to core was Atari Teenage Riot with the invention of Digital Hardcore in 1977(?), and Horsetheband with Nintendocore in 1998. But the Electronicore sound overwhelmingly comes from I See Stars and Enter Shikari.

@kaomsheart12909 жыл бұрын
+Dustin Brinnon Dont even compare lol, abandon all ships uses autotune. They are not even TRYING to be where these guys are. Also dont come with that shitty argument of "ye they use it cuz they are shit" no. Autotune believe it or not requires good vocals to sound good. And AAS nails the autotune by making it sounds good. Don't believe me yet? Download fruitiloops, and sing yourself, then add autotune and realize that it sounds shit. Abandon all ship have their own flow which is catchy and reconizable. Both bands are absolutely great. And quite frankly I See Stars is closer to The Amity Affliction than to AAS
@Brinonymous9 жыл бұрын
+Jos Wardt "Autotune believe it or not requires good vocals to sound good." Well... that is supposing auto-tuning sounds good - which it doesn't nor does AAS make it so. And as for using it myself, I don't need to because I sing well enough by my own ability. You can defend AAS all you want but it doesn't change the fact that - to me - they're really not good.
@kaomsheart12909 жыл бұрын
+Dustin Brinnon Yeah well, those i exposed AAS to didn't like it either because of the extremely overused autotune. But i kind of like that, and i guess that's just my taste. And since we are all having our own tastes i wont start bitching about the typical "You're wrong, i'm right" kind of stuff. You do you, i'll do myself. There will always be people who don't like a certain type of music, and that's fine. But just know that some people love it. I personally am obsessed with this entire album. I've liked bands before, but not like this. Every single song is amazing. ISS tops every other existing band hands down. No where else can you get hard hitting breakdowns with insane bass drop techno AND epic cleans/screams. Bands like issues overuse the techno/auto tune. ISS found the sweet spot. Keep this style on the next cd guys. Absolutely flawless.
@tomahawklegend10 жыл бұрын
I've heard a lot of these bands in order to have a valid opinion on things, and I can say rather confidently that though they do have some kind of appeal (primarily, I would assume, to young teenagers and the like), they definitely overmixed this entire song, and the techno is most definitely overused. I have things to say about the lyrics, but I guess in this day and age, you're not metalcore if you don't just repeat some kind of semi-emotional phrase over and over again.

King Dingin Meh, I'm kinda older, but I listen to a mix of Black Sabbath, Kansas, The Temptations, Stryper, Johnny Cash, For Today, Bring Me the Horizon, Credence Clearwater Revival, Owl City, Dio, Newsboys, Memphis May Fire, Toto, Showbread, and this. Honestly I cannot believe that so many people are leaving hurtful and hateful comments on this video. I See Stars are one of the most amazing, creative, unique, inspiring bands that exist. This may be my opinion, but I am a fan of their music, I always have been, and for a reason. I love the way they mix up so many parts and genres and they know no boundaries, it is experimental and new and yes a lot of bands do this and try to emulate this sound but ISS do continue to keep pushing the boundaries. They were also one of the pioneers of the sound which many bands try to create today and has now become 'generic'. I See Stars are far from that and always have been experimental and original. This song also, is a personal message from Devin and Andrew about their mum who has been an alcoholic their whole lives, but is finally now, recovering, and finding hope in the world again. It is a really emotional, moving, and inspiring song. Maybe actually listen to it and watch the video rather than judging blindly. If you still don't like it, don't stick around, you can listen to what you like - negative comments don't have any good effect on anyone.

I find it soo funny how people can't deal with this mix of genre adding techno dubstep shit in to post-core rock? like why? it works and has a unique sound that not many other bands fuck around with. its soo creative and gotta hand it to I see stars. get a real opinion
@facgce9604 жыл бұрын
I agree!! Besides, this is a legit genre. It's called "electronicore", so the band isn't "ruining" metal by adding electronic music to it. It's just the way the genre is meant to sound
@heywaitMarlee4 жыл бұрын
honestly that to me is the best part of the song, when they throw in that techno dubstep right into the breakdown. why the hell not, it sounds amazing. it's like you're actually living the intensity of a violent videogame or something and it fits the intensity of metal perfectly. brilliant and i don't hear this combination often.

8 years later and it’s still just as good as the first time I heard It. The cleans are so unique and perfect and the screams provide a perfect tone that I feel I haven’t heard done this well by anyone else. And Zachs screams are so easy to understand. Still one of my top played songs today.

You won't see me die here You always say I need to get as far away as I can While I've got time to play with and any risk, I'll take it Or fade away in this suburban wasteland And watch all your plans Sink right under your feet Sink right under your feet Watch all your plans sink right under your feet Under your feet Is the ground to break You only get what you take So don't just sit and watch the atrophy of it I have stood back for way too long You are broken You are so broken I can see that we may be running out of time The curtain's falling in slow motion I can feel that the sense has left your mind The curtain's falling in slow motion Why did you go? I can't watch So quiet and peaceful Where did I go wrong? Say you can stay I can't look away You won't see me die here You won't see me die here Now, now, do you hear me now? Screaming at the top of my lungs all night Now, now, do you hear me now? Screaming at the top of my lungs all night Why? Why? Ask me why? Go ahead and act like you don't know why Why? Why? Ask me why? I'll scream it You blow me away You blow me away You blow me away Well, can you give me my breath back? Can you give me my breath back? Can you give me my breath back? Can you give me my breath back? Do you hear me now? Screaming at the top of my lungs all night Do you hear me now? Screaming at the top of my lungs all night (do you hear me now?) Do you hear me now?
