As a furry, a numismatist, a philatelist, a science fiction fan and author, an anime fan and figurine collector, a paleontology enthusiast, Yu-Gi-Oh and chess and Dungeons & Dragons player, and a lover of punk rock and classical music myself, it's amazing how often people forget that people can have multiple interests that may intersect. Even at the sorts of conventions one might not expect to find community. Perhaps also because I'm autistic, there's something just so wonderful about being able to have a space to obsess over hyper-specific things without feeling out of place.

Ben playing the long game. Good on you, mate. I had lots of positive coin related influences as a kid but never got into coins myself until my mid-40s. Those influences have all since passed away, and I wish I could thank them 🙏.

Im honestly shocked you havent tried promoting the show at the gem/mineral show in Tucson. All the gem shows i go to, a couple coin collectors always show up there and do well lol

Hey, Ben. Love your channel I give out coins at Halloween. Indian cents, libeerty nickels and buffalo nickels mostly. I make sure they're decent examples ... full dates and not culls. Sometimes I'm able to throw in a few barber dimes, etc. It's become hugely popular, and kids come back year after year to get their coin! Been doing this here for almost 30 years. Young adults are starting to show up now, saying how exciting this was for them every year. to come get a cool coin Great fun. I'm hoping at least a few kids are becomming interested in coins because of this. Even if they just spend them, that puts interesting stuff back into circulation. Of COURSE we hand out candy as well.

I completely agree with you, as I often do. Collecting coins can be intimidating and expensive to the inexperienced, but once it becomes tangible, that's when people collect. I worked for a comic book shop in high school, so many avenues that relate to coins. The first Superman comic has a year, and so does the coin that bought it! Get my point? Lol. I've seen a peace dollar turned into two faces coin, lots of related things.

Sounds like Tucson comicon is the better con in az now. Fan Fusion is ridiculously big; accordingly, I haven't been in years. Great move taking the shop to the show.

I had marvel and Star Wars and DC rounds that I set aside throughout the year. And I had basic us coins in 2x2 For a buck to $2.50… Mercury dime, buffalos, Indians …
