I had my first one in 2009 and sold it in 2012 after a Nikon D800 release. I just bought one back a few weeks ago, and I agree the image has the best skin tone.

One of the best dslr's ever made. I adore mine. The photos are just so good.

I still use its big brother the D3 for work. These cameras are so reliable and give such a wonderful output!

Beat up enough to have been used by a photojournalist. When I got into weddings and other events, I replaced a D200 & D300 with a D700 & D3. After upgrading, I am still with the D700 for street photography and model portfolios. Tip: Use 3D Focus Tracking for razor sharpness.

D700 is one of the greatest cameras every made. The street, actual D700 shooter shutter life rating is over 300K like the D3, D3s.

Enjoy. I disagree with a few of the comments. Yes, definitely too much to pay for one in this condition, but you got the lenses as well. Glad it's working out for you. If you use one of the more recent mirrorless cameras, DSLRs become just a bit more tedious to get accurate AF with lenses shot wide open. The D700 file size is great. The monochromatic noise is nice. The 3D tracking and LV were a bit ahead of it's time. The photos it produces with the color science it has remain something people are attracted to. You can look at all the charts and graphs on limited DR, high read noise, etc, but it will never give you the aesthetic feel of the camera itself. Have fun.

congrats on your d700. that lense i heard is legendary. got mine here body and grip in canada for $250 cdn (23,000 clicks). ever first fx. bought for low noise capability so far very impressed with iso 6400 photos edited with topaz.

Yes old topaz and lightroom denoise bringing new life to old cameras

I have that 24-70 version: it's pretty good on my D3s & D3x (and yes it will also autofocus just fine on the F2Z adaptor on a Z body.)

Nice to know.. im planning on collecting some old nikon glass and maybe in the future get into the Z system

The D700 is the defnition of work horse. I used it for years, and it never let me down. The high ISO isn't great, 3200 is about all you can do reliably. The JPG's aren't great. Very contrasty and shadows are too dark. I shot raw exclusively because the jpg's weren't good, shadows too dark and highlights too light.
@CameraGeekSPT3 ай бұрын
Yes iso performace is not comparable to new cameras but i like the noise it makes. My sony a7rii has weird color noise compared to this and the denoise in lightroom just breathes new life to old cameras

D700 kinda beat up, but I think You got quite a deal! And the older ‘F’ glass adapts well on the newer Z cameras. Youre a Lucky man. 😊 Stay safe and happy shooting!

D700 is awesome. Nikon rates the shutter for 150,000 actuations - there are many reports of D700s reaching way over that, though. I have bought one for AU$400 in near perfect condition. I sold my original one (that I bought for AU$4000) about 10 years ago.

This camera is amazing, but main minus - little autofocus point`s.

Kumuha ka nalang ng NIKON Z 7ii - You cannot go wrong. I have also D700 with 6000 shutter count. - Do not waste anymore money to restore that - just used it and save money for mirrorless.

Good point sir :) I do have a mirrorless full frame ( Lumix S5 ) which I use for videos most of the time

The video maker obviously bumped his head. I wouldnt pay 200 bucks for a D700. The camera was is sub par, fella.
@scott-wright5 ай бұрын
Sub par to who? Still delivers spectacular imagery. Given the lenses included it's a good deal.
@castieldiallo29455 ай бұрын
@@scott-wright sub par to those with above average vision. the d610 will give you better images and it has 100% view finder coverage.
@scott-wright5 ай бұрын
@@castieldiallo2945 each to their own. I prefer the button layout on the d700 and build quality. 95% view coverage hardly bothers me.

Right, and that is probably the best feature of the D700: It can't make videos.

Old is serious misnomer. This camera is amazing. I just got one used from an authorized dealer, and the battery grip and a 24-120mm lens, and extra batteries, and there was only 23k shutter clicks. It is an amazing camera.
