The music itself is fine, the problem is not having the option to turn it on/off, it override the battle theme even if an enemy has a specific one and it ruin the tension, same for the menu theme, those 2 are the music I remember the most out of the entire xenoblade 3 ost and for bad reasons, it feels like they were hammered into my head. It's sad but simply because of that (and skip travel put you in the morning so you don't enjoy the night theme that much without changing to nighttime manually which is immersion breaking and not instinctive), xenoblade 3 ost is easily my least liked ost in the series (and that's including x in it).

This game is a perfect example of "how the hell did MonolithSoft fit this huge of a world on the Nintendo Switch of all things!?!" alongside Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Not even the first time they performed wonders considering how large the original Xenoloblade Chronicles was, and they got that to run on the Wii.
@krystami5789Ай бұрын
I'm thinking partially the reason why is the general art, not the models or style, but the rendering, the painted art on the models. They have a distinct style that can't be found in other media, no matter how stylistic or detailed, nothing has been able to match what Monolithsoft does, you can see the visible flare they put into things. I think maybe because they put so much detail in the base art that wraps around the models, they can allow for less need for polygons and such things, because their detail is added elsewhere, they can focus more on different detail otherwise. It's a collaboration between many artists, but each one adds their flare that makes things quicker, less maintenance and what not. I feel they just know how to balance things in such a way, they don't need to over focus on things most other studios end up getting stuck on. I think other games, the artist get into art block while working on what they do because they are trying to go an "extra level" maybe something they are actively learning. Monolithsoft on the other hand, they stick to what they know and build off of it little by little, it adds to their art flow and doesn't put them into blocks because they are utilizing their skills they are building, into the core of their creations, they aren't experimenting to see what works, but when they experiment they plan on it to be a core feature somewhere down the line. They are true artists.

@krystami5789 nah, I'm convinced the MonolithSoft employees made a deal with a dark god to use magic in order to get these games to work as well as they do.
@krystami5789Ай бұрын
@thecursed_1lordofcats738 I want to say they have access to knowledge given by a pure hearted, good god or angels. I don't think they are in league with demons, quite the opposite. Funny if you knew Soraya Sagas real name, her name is that of a main character in a novel who happens to be a clairvoyant. So perhaps they have their very own magic they work off of, but work towards helping the world and not condemning it. The evil being possibly who they split from, ones who decided to make deals with demons. They are more "industrial" about just making money and not pleasing fans, that seems to come second. Opposite of Monolithsoft who cares about their fans, their creations story like it is their own baby, don't mull over money besides for what is essentially needed to grow. Lawl, yes I went too deep into this, but I genuinely find getting "too deep", entertaining when it comes to talking about topics, even nonsensical jokes I take out of hand, hahaha. But yes, I enjoy your comment, I just kinda rambled on 8D

That's one of my problems with this cast, they were raised as sworn enemies and Lanz show that perfectly at first but after just one night, it's thrown out of the window, having to team up out of necessity don't make you suddenly trust someone you spent years fighting, this is part of why the ouroboros gang doesn't work for me, so many plot decisions fell unnatural. Even in 2, Morag and Nia still didn't really trust each other until chapter 6 because of what happened in chapter 2. It's because of many details like it, that the more I progressed in 3, the less I felt invested, I never had this problem in the others xenoblades. Massive spoilers incoming, don't read it Dee And it's because of this accumulation that when I reached what the community call the peak of the game. I wasn't invested in the group anymore and some would call me heartless but the "peak" doesn't affect me at all. My only reaction was laughing at N when he realized that he got his just deserts. The previous games made me cry many times, and some cutscenes still does. But in 3 (at least the base game), I only shed a tear in my first run of the game. In the maternity scene because it finally felt natural, and on 3 others occasions: Guernica's death, seeing the ruins of Fonsa Myma and the drifting soul remix playing when the cloudkeep appeared, and those 3 happened to be references to xenoblade 2, I find it sad that most of my emotional moments in 3 must rely on build-up from previous entries and not work by itself.

If you want you can disable the fixed camera during the talent art animations from the settings. The advantage is that you can switch characters in that time, since some of those animations can be a bit long.

Just a heads up DeeBee but you probably actually don't want to use your built up exp at camp as you level up really easily in this game and can get overleveled very easily even when not using camp exp. Now in most rpgs being overleveled is minor as it just makes the game easier but in Xenoblade 3 you actually make an aspect of it much harder by being overleveled. I won't say anymore as i don't want to inadvertently spoil something for you but figured the earlier you know about the camp thing the better.

He has the sword because he's the protagonist, and the protagonist has to have a cool sword. That's just narrative law. Yeah hotswapping whenever you want. Xb2 got a lot of fairly earned criticism for a few things that you might remember, like the awful tutorials or how (the unexplained) AI behavior of party members kinda sucked. Well in 3 they took that feedback to heart. You've already praised how comprehensive and useful the new tutorial system is, and with hotswapping there's no more screaming at Nia to please get off Dromarch and Launch the enemy before your Topple wears off or Rex to switch back to Pyra for a Fire special, or Tora to just make up his mind with Poppi because you can just assume direct control. Figuratively at least; that's not in this game. That was 2. 3's system is yours to figure out. The one thing they didn't fix is all the time you'll end up spending in the characters menu tweaking your Arts and Equipment as needed. You'll go in for a quick tinkering of Lanz' setup, and an hour later you'll finally finish optimizing Taion's support functionality and realize you've done the in-game equivalent of "hopping on tik-tok for 5 minutes." The game is _immersive,_ like an addiction. 53:35 oh yes, Big Monke is still here to ambush you in the middle of fighting some level 10 bird. At least he isn't Rotbart. Oh the Class grind. Dee, you are so lucky you're playing the fully updated version of this game. On the launch version there was a bug that made grinding class points take so much longer than it should have, and fixing it was not a super high priority for the devs so it stuck around for a while. I ended up spending tons of Silver Nopon Coins instead because of how tedious it was. "How is this the safest route?" Remember this game and the last two games, when the early game starting routes had level 80+ giant, highly aggressive monkeys just to dunk on your low levelled party? A "safe route" is a very relative term. Ok, that was -three- four times in the stream your game started bugging out on you. The game autosaves so you shouldn't be at _too much_ risk of losing a ton of progress if you crash, but your game is being weirdly unstable so you might want to look into that. There's not really that much in the way of after battle banter lines I'm sure you've noticed; unfortunately if there is something sufficiently meaty enough to satisfy Lanz in all of Aionios nobody has ever found it. Ironically the wandering Darbus are the least problematic enemies roaming the wastes. Compared to the dozens of volff, hox, ropl, and aspar absolutely everywhere a few giant Darbus are easy to avoid. There is no escaping watery catgirls I'm afraid, Nia cemented that as a Xenoblade staple back in 2. Expect to see one in Xb4 whenever it gets announced.

This poor man has no idea how deep the combat system rabbit hole goes. It'll be a great time watching him figure out all the cool stuff.😁

You don't need to say that here. That creates anticipation. He doesn't want that.

One small tip about levelling: it's easy to get overlevelled in this game when doing side content, which makes it harder to increase class level. Try to avoid using all bonus exp at rest spots.

Seeing the game again makes me want to play it again... It's incredible, but the plot twists won't surprise me the same. But the characters are so well developed that they are incredible, even the ones that are not playable like Ethel

God I love the dialogue in this game, the dub script is amazing with how unabashedly British it is, gives the game such a unique charm.

Learning how to do chain attacks properly will honestly make you feel unbeatable. Once you get all the mechanics down and figure out in which order to go through attackers, defenders and supports to fill up the TP gauge, you'll have a lot of fun with it lmao

While it’s fresh, I want to ramble about the opening of the game. Namely, how chapter 1 mirrors the fall of man from the book of Genesis. The colonies are “paradises” where soldiers live. They have no concept of shame about their bodies, they don’t worry about much of anything beyond the next mission. Vandham and the Ouroboros stone are the serpent and the fruit of knowledge. The party can no longer living in ignorance of the outside world. Also note the ouroboros is also a serpent. Moebius acts the roll of god, telling them they have sinned. Banishing them from their paradises. Afterwards, the boys feel uncomfortable changing near the girls, as they have, for the first time, recognized gender. In the book of Genesis, god recognizes their sin by their understanding of being naked.

How many times has Dee accidently put it on Follow Leader. There are a couple times in both videos. I hope he can learn not to do it. Also the combat is fun when you switch off characters.

I did that a few times when I first played too, he'll figure it out before too long especially if he makes a habit out of reviewing the tips menu and such at the beginning of play sessions.
