I get that these are good driving games but I don't see why so many people say something so niche is GOTY all the time. Personally I've found racing games incredibly fucking boring in recent years, just following a hologram line on the road that tells you what to do with a bunch of crappy AI drivers and bullshit rubber banding to make the game more annoying. They have good soundtracks and visuals typically but that's about it for me. The last racing game I truly enjoyed was Motorstorm because it was just fucking nuts and beating everyone in a slow ass lorry because you can ram all the faster cars was fun as hell, and boosting so much your car explodes over the finish line was always super fun. Every time I try a racing game these days it just feels like I'm being babied in to following this orderly line. Couldn't care less if that's realistic, it's just boring. I want chaos.
