The two things I wish for farmers is that they could set their own prices - like every other business in our capitalist society. And better weather. You are the busiest, most skilled, and hard-working folks on the planet.

My husband says lift the digger up either side and see which is the slackest track. The side with the slackest track will need some grease pumping in,which you will find the grease nipple behind the big rubber bung on the side of the track housing , roughly in the middle . Hope this helps.

Is it tracks or just farming in general...even after being away from farming for a few years now I still remember going around in circles. Nice video's Crawford keep it going young man, just reference to the rolling marks I notice no dual wheels...real pain to fit and for road work but they do help spread the weight.

Hi Crawford what about the new Fendt 600 Vario it's roughly the same size as the 718 and goes up to 224 bhp plus I think it will be cheaper than a 718.
@gmurrayf4 ай бұрын
Although Fendts are expensive to buy second hand, dealers won't give you near that as a trade in. But they are so durable that I've never sold one and now have 5. And 3 of them are over 10,000 hours but are as good as new. I was originally going to trade the first 724 at 5,000 hours but decided I would just be giving someone a great tractor. So instead I bought a second one with 5,000 hours on it, for the depreciation of a new one.

Hi Crawford. First things first track condition good on both ? Tension of tracks, if they both look ok the tensioner may still give a little without any signs of leakage but may let the other gain. I’ve operated diggers for 30 years and have still to find one that will track to a perfect straight line. Close but no cigar.

It's just digger life, unless it's hellish bad tracking to one side you will find that even new diggers will track off to one side slightly, older they get wear and tear on motors, tracks themselves etc all adds up. To prevent excess wear if you are tracking long distances always track forwards this will cause less wear and tear on your undercarriage, plus I find it's always more comfortable on your feet to push the pedals forward.

@@CrawfordsFarm1 fair enough, I’m sure you have but check your rollers for a dodgy bearing as that would give drag, otherwise there should be a maximum flow adjustment screw on each track motor, once you’ve checked everything else you can find that and adjust accordingly. The motors sometimes will wear uneven can be purely down to favouring one side to dig and move from over the other.
