Evolutions came out when I was in first or second grade and I opened so many of them before they became expensive I never got anything crazy the best thing I ever got was just a secret rare I got almost nothing else because I didn’t buy tins just single packs from like Walmart or something.

Ex deoxys packs are very rare and sought after now, even though it may have hurt your wallet not getting an ex or gold star just note that these packs are really old and sought after and that everything in them brings nostalgia. Your luck continues to build up for another opening and I’m sure that opening will be something to remember.

Out of these three sets, I would say I'm probably partial to Evolutions because I got into Pokemon card collecting again after having some cards when I was really young right around when Evolutions and Celebrations came out.

I remember around 2 years ago I got a Pokeball tin and inside was a Burning Shadows pack/ an XY Evolutions pack, and A Lost Thunder set. I got a Hollow Lucario from Burning Shadows, a Lusamine Prism from Lost Thunder, and I pulled the rarest card in XY Evolutions, the Mega Charizard EX Full art which is around 40 -70 NZD. I was so happy and I was running around my house. I will always remember that pull.

Personally I wish they kept this tin style since if you put some cards in the newer ones they get mixed up when you have to flip it sideways to hold the handle plus this style literally felt like opening a treasure chest

For me Evolutions was the set where everyone pretended to have base set cards and we were all so dumb and gullible that we didn’t realize that they were lying.

How can you not like the ex era? It's the best era. It had the best card design, the best art, the best rarities, Gold Stars too, the best themes for sets and even the reverse holos were awesome. Ex Team Rocket returns alone is mkre epic than any other set of the Diamond and Pearl to the XY era. After that we got Hidden Fates though that changed the game.
