I bought a coffee warmer to dry microscope slides. I also want to show you some DIY tools that some of my viewers made. You can make better ringed slides with using a pipette than a brush and a few other things.

When trying to put a cover glass on a ringed slide, maybe put the cover on the ring dry and with a micro pipette filled with acetone, let capillary action pull the drops of acetone between the ring and the cover. That might be enough to get the cover glass to stick then when dry, top it off with another ring to make sure it is sealed. If this method works you wouldn't need a complete seal with the first ring since the second ring would do that.

I found something that works great for protective dust caps for eyepieces. I found plastic caps for chair legs at the hardware store. I was able to find some that fit perfectly over standard eyepieces.

Hello, and thank you for this very interesting video. Can you talk a little about converting a light microscope into an incident light microscope? Is there benefits to fiber optics versus LED, for example, or what to do with higher magnification objectives, etc. thanks.

You can use a strong flashlight (or fiber optics) to light the specimen from the top. This only works well for the low power objectives 4x and 10x, because for the higher magnifications the objective will make a shadow.

Can you please....... tell me which one is good for me as a high school student - a microscope with 45x and classical stage with clips OR a microscope with 100x objective and mechanical stage

It's not the magnification. The mechanical stage microscope will most likely be overall better, have a condenser etc. So normally in schools this is the one that we use. But it depends also on other factors.
