Point of coaching though is you're having a much higher elo player talking in your head telling you (mostly) exactly what to do. I think it's better to follow exactly what he's saying and you can reflect on it afterwards.

Aatrox is a lot of fun to play and I don't blame him for wanting to play that champ but he is also very mechanically difficult. Unfortunately I don't think this client's mechanics on Aatrox are going to allow him to climb. He should definitely keep practicing the champ, but maybe not with the expectation of climbing until his mechanics improve a lot.

I think the intent of being coached should never be to win the game. The goal should just be to push the limits, learn as much as possible and walk away from the session being more than you were before.

no point in coaching micro-mechanics... that just comes with time and practice. the coachings are macro-oriented because those concepts can actually be taught and explained. edit: his cs wasn't even that bad. nowhere near the biggest thing he needs to worry about.

Fan for a while but this coaching seemed flat. You were talking to chat and answering questions while he asked you questions that you took a while to answer. Seemed like you weren’t in it at parts. And then when fights broke out you actually started coaching and telling him what to do. Shouldn’t a coach be in your head and making you think even during down times of the game not just during fights? Plan ahead for him, tell him why to make certain decisions versus champ specific micro
