I can see why Ecuador is a projected top 5 team… quality side with an easy group.

That Zardes goal was sick. He made it look so easy. Almost like he wasn't even trying. He is underrated.

Nice going Jake, very interesting stuff here. Stats tell us a lot! For one, this shows pretty clearly that the USA will be punching above its weight playing team like Uruguay, Columbia, and Ecuador. We'd probably see something similar simulating matches against second tier Euro teams... Croatia, Portugal, Poland.

Good point on the Euro teams!

Croatia churns out quite a few world class players. I'm not sure I'd classify them any lower than the top.

Zardes pulling a Dani Rojas will always be an epic moment in USMNT history. Too bad Zava wasn’t there to see it

I lived in Chile, and I think Chile will do well, despite their not being ranked too high now.

Stats say nothing in this case. The most accurate analisys is the thorough observation of the "now and here". The players involved, the today punctuation of their performances, the injuries, the behaviour, the mood... The performances and the players of 30 years ago have no influence on todays result.

Surprised at the win total of the US 1-1-1 is that enough to get us out of the group? I do think some of the favorites will surprise its a tournament anything can happen
@ItsCalledSoccer5 ай бұрын
On average thats probably enough. Lose to Uruguay and then 1-1-0 against the others.

The problem with computer models is that they are worse than unit tests; all they do is verify your own biases and assumptions. That said, they are extremely fun to play with. I had some small hope for doing OK in the Copa America, but we just can't seem to keep healthy. That lack of depth is still killing us at the international level. As far as the bookie's, they aren't really covering the actual odds, but the money. So anything anyone heavily bets on has to have depressed payouts to cover that, whereas teams that people underrate and so under bet on will get payouts designed to attract such bets.

Conmebol will rig it for a Brazil-Argentina final. They are the big dogs in the conference and enjoy all sort of privileges like easy draws, overturned bans and they didn't even have to play each other twice last qualifiers because they "didn't want to". All other teams in South America have to play Argentina and Brazil 4 times to qualify and they don't even want to play the "toughest" match twice. And Conmebol is just like "ehhh okay, whatever you want Messi, don't yell at me".

Peru has historically outperformed their performance in Copa America if you compare them with their Qualifying’s performances.

Very interesting video, I hope that everyone appreciates your effort and time. About the predictions, unfortunately, it seems like the simulator thinks that either Ancelotti, Guardiola, or Klopp, is the US coach😢 with this god-aweful MLS reject. We'll barely get out of the group and then get smoked by either Brazil or Colombia 😡
