when the snow is that consistency, wouldn't it just be easier to roll up snowballs like making a snowman? seems you can make some pretty big balls and move them around to create the walls of the shelter.

Thank you for bringing us along. The songs of the ice are quite striking - the hail during the night and the sounds as you cut through surface ice on your way home. Some of that even looked like frozen lillypads on the water. Your dip in the water was well thought out - shallow enough that you could get right out if needed. I'm curious - did this change your awareness of self afterwards for a time? How did the Andirock chair get there?
