The easiest way I have found to put the intake through the case is to use a piece of string. 2 loops around intake, pass string ends through tank housing and pull. Pops right through. Release one end of string and pull through. Done quick and easy.

That's the way I do it also. You can even find this method described in some of the service manuals. A bit of Stihl press fluid helps also.

The attention to detail is top notch. The saw will be crazy reliable if you are covering all those bases during the build.

I came across an 026 once that had a hole wore through to the oil tank because the long screws for the handle were used underneath the saw instead of the top side of the handle. Just something to be aware of for anyone rebuilding one. Thanks for the video 👍

Stihls are not the easiest to work on, IMO. Coming together nicely! Getting a new phone is usually something I dread and having to replace one because of an accident is no fun whatsoever. But glad you were able to make lemonade out of the situation!

Hi Tinman, great video again! Easiest way for me to get the intake booth through the opening is to grab the booth in pliers through the handle and twist it around itself. This way the intake booth becomes long and small and you will pull it through with ease.

The chain brake was a bit of a struggle when I did it on my 036 you made it look easy and I learned an easier way to do it thanks. Also wish I would have known the phone tricks last time it happened to me had to start from ground zero 😂 it was fun. Thanks Tinman love the content always look forward to the next video.

You definitely take pride in your work Tinman! I'm the same way about cleaning a saw before assembling it, I'll go into the project like "OK this will be a user saw that doesn't need to be perfect" then 2 weeks later I'll have every single piece on the saw spit shined 😂 it's a sickness lol. I'll even go as far as waxing my metal top sachs dolmars 😂😂😂

Hey hey Tinman, thanks for showing that precision one drop oiler pen. Have been wantin one for a long time. Had several Daiwa oiler pens always crack and leak out. Found one at Napa auto have to order it but they have em, got mine through Amazon. There about 10 bucks... thanks my fishin reels, pellet guns, bow and chainsaws all thank you. I'm kinda barefoot and backwards, but stihl intake boots 9 outa 10 times I disassemble the boot from the cylinder I find it easier plus don't have to take carb off. Thank for all your time and content....

I replaced the brake handle on my 260 last week and lost that dumb little spring. $10 later got a new spring and the saws back together. Word to the wise, dont blow compressed air in there when that spring is still connected.

I got my first I-phone and I was using it without a protective case . My boss kept telling me to get one as if I dropped it was going to get damaged A few days later he dropped his phone out of his pocket when he was getting into his truck , and he proceeded to drive over it . 👍🇨🇦

i got an 026 a couple months back. im 99% sure its got an air leak but im not sure were from and its got great compression. the funny thing is that my saw has a metal handle and I don't believe its from another saw. I got that 026 in a package with a husky 66. both in near MINT condition for only $150 all they needed was a deep deep cleaning and fresh gas and both fired right up.

Seems like a lot of fiddling around to get this saw together. Husqvarna are so much more simple to assemble.... it seems... The phone incident sucks for sure. Switching over or retrieving your info to a new phone... sucks. Tech surely has not freed up more time for most. There are positive things, but it is nice to just turn them off sometimes. My echo cs4600 oils all the time also. I love the saw, but that is the only saw I own that can run itself out of bar oil before gas if you don't shut it off while clearing brush etc.

On my 036, the brass grommet had to be put on first, then the tube put down the hole. Then I had to attach it to the oil pump. But your tube is really flexible, I bought a new Stihl oil line, man it is stiff. That new phone is nice btw.
@tomr200718 күн бұрын
I had to replace the oil tube on my 034. I tried everything to soften the replacement tube. I finally bought some 6mm fuel line. Problem solved.

I don't want to be that guy but the fuel line is on upside down and that isn't the correct fuel line for the 026/260. I opted for the 260 fuel line as it is easier to get the filter on, despite people claiming the hole wasn't big enough for it.
