I don't think the devs want to make the Collector system too streamlined, because it looks like it's intended to be the secondary gameplay loop behind the seratonin looping of buying storage units. But I think there's a good middle ground they can reach. Like, say, after the first tier of rewards you get, maybe they could give you a means to contact them, and instead of having to seek them out they come to you. The tradeoff would be that it skips forward in time a couple hours so you don't have as much time to go hunting
