I wouldn't agree that light is useless. It just doesn't allow you to make mistakes and requires higher team coordination than with other classes thus can be perceived as a weaker class by many people. The chaos you can provide as light can be very useful and you have all the tools you need for a perfect outplay on the enemy but you better pray to god that your M + H are doing their job right or you won't get anything out of the game. Having said that I still think that the game requires some adjustments so that light can be picked by more people.

This. Granted it's a challenge imo because Embark made Light class by design to be all-or-nothing based on their ingame description of how they need to commit to "hit-and-run" tactics, implied by their movement tools and some weapons that require being up close and personal at the same time. The Gateway allowing teammates to cover more ground could be a sign of more viability but we have yet to see how it plays out (it'd be funny if semi-Wraith style kidnapping happens by throwing the second nade onto an enemy running near you). On the other hand, a good amount of the playerbase imo as well ignores how this description by Embark matters and how teams should have good synergy with the classes -- as the devs expect them to hit-and-run, one should not expect them to commit solely to fights nor to steal cashouts. Neither should Lights be oblivious enough to send it just cuz invis and dashes exist. Thinking more of how to outplay enemies is more valuable in this game and the stuff Light has can make that rewarding in a different way.

Light is the most played class, I doubt that's be the case if it was the hardest or weakest. You can literally go invisible, stun somebody disabling all their movement and abilities, BEFORE they could have even detected you, and then you can dump a mag of smg into them with little to no resistance. Then just go invis again and run off.. it's a noob class not a high skill ceiling class.

I literally have screenshots of 8+ lights in a match, I've never seen that amount of either other class. Even in power shift you'll just sit at the back of the map completely safe from any resistance while dealing one to two shot kills with a sniper that has zero drop. The heavy shotgun has drop and projectile speed but the sniper doesn't??? Light is ridiculous. It's all I see every match.

​@@user-sx3py2my3uI agree that Light snipers are very annoying with Power Shift and on other modes if they don't do team play. However, we'll agree to disagree regard its skill ceiling -- it's arguably high precisely because most Lights have to rely on the abilities+gadget combos that make them feel subjectively ridiculous, as one small mistake can easily get them killed every time otherwise. Invis Lights can be paid attention to with their audio cues and the glass sheen if they walk/sprint. Stun gun is indeed annoying but adjusting to leading your shots at that state is still possible -- you're not a literal statue with it. They can get one shot with a frag nade, be brought easily to death with gas and explosive mines, cannot really survive stealing a cashout even with Medium healer, you get the idea. With the Motion Sensor now moved to Heavy, I'd say that's also underrated in gauging some Lights trying to sneak up near you. Sidenote: For Power Shift specifically, one can say that an enemy team defending the platform with Medium APS users with the Heal Beam to protect Heavy Mesh Shield/Dome users constantly is about as annoying as Light Snipers doing the same thing. You have to have a cracked team aiming at them all at once -- otherwise you have to get a Medium Data Reshaper user to even begin making sure glitch nades and any explosives take effect.

Lights biggest advantage is misdirection, chaos and being big nuisance on their back. When enemy targets light, they are basically free food for your team. (Noticed this multiple times while playing dagger+dash) Only downside with light is that its tough class to pull off properly. (Just like spy and scout in tf2) Good lights usually have huge impact on outcome.

I personally use the grapple, LH1, breach charge, goo and pyro. I find it works really well for grabbing the vault, getting to the cashout quickly and quickly putting down some temporary defences and go back to help my teammates whilst they’re on their way there

Keep in mind that the cloak's effectiveness is affected by your movement speed. Standing completely still makes you very difficult to spot, while sprinting around like a madman makes you pretty obvious if the opponent's paying attention. Learn to slow down and you'll be much harder to spot. I've had plenty of situations where I, as Light, evaded enemies in breathing distance by cloaking and not moving at all.

I'm an Apex player and my main is Pathfinder. When I first tried The Finals, I thought about to choose the light class because it has a grappling hook like Pathfinder... But holy crap, it was a mess. It has a long cooldown time, low values when you grapple walls of buildings, and you can't throw it to the floor to up yourself in the air. The range of jumping and "flying" afterwards small too, and it could be better compared to the Apex. The grapple hook in Apex Legends is pure satisfaction when you know how to control it, Theh Finals just isn't for that I think, and it's just a passive device there, but I believe that if the light class had a proper grapple hook, the mobility of that class could be way more better, and it would allow you to easily survive during the combat. But there is not, which is why I changed from light to mid lol. I really appreciate that you made a big deal with this unbalanced class.

I love playing light. I don't think it's a bad class unless people use it badly like running straight in and dying immediately or standing on a crane all match and sniping. I like to spam throwables. Smoke has become my best friend coupled with a glitch grenade (for the dome shield) and a frag or gas and boom you have a good supporting light class.

Light isn't really bad, it's just harder to use. I also solo queued to diamond mainly with Light. Stun gun is incredibly powerful for getting isolated easy kills and cashout stalling. Avoid straight up fights and position well - and most importantly PLAY YOUR LIFE / THE CASHOUT.

I find it a bit funny on how despite all the fantastic tips that were given here, the best tip that was suggested in the video is to never bother putting any time and effort into playing light to begin with (which I don't agree with personally, especially with Season 2 around the corner so things could change). Still, the tips are greats and appreciated.

Saying light does the same DPS as the other classes is just flat out wrong. The average DPS for all Classes' guns *with reload* (excluding shotguns and melee weapons) is: *Light:* 135 DPS *Medium:* 115 DPS *Heavy:* 135 DPS And if you're curious, the average raw DPS for each class without reload is: *Light:* 250 DPS *Medium:* 225 DPS *Heavy:* 210 DPS

Ottr Dash negates the low HP and DPS shortcommings if you save it for fights... It's much better than invis. Light is viable in a ranked setting. If you are losing 9/10 games just because you are playing light, you're not a good light😭. Lights are 100% capable of stalling the cashout, moving the cashbox from a vault to a cashout station way quicker than any other build, and providing their team utility (stungun, glitch grenade, invisibility grenade, and soon the gateway in season 2). Im convinced yhe player base hasn't figured out the optimal way to play light yet😭

Light is a really strong class and people just suck at the game b/c the lowered TTK gave everybody brainrot. Highest util and most annoying class in the game, with the biggest playmaker potential. If it truly sucked, then you'd never climb. Just like you wouldn't climb to challenger playing jinx jungle in league, regardless of personal skill level. All this class needs is lower TTK for the entire game(all classes, all gadgets, all weapons).

Having Played the Light class, I can confidently say that Solo to Diamond with Medium would be more harder than light. When Light class is used right its actually stronger and has better carry potential. In the right hands Light is broken. But all medium has is the primary weapon and thats it.

@@efdeecue The primary reason for medium being good was because of the Defibrillator. Defib makes the team sustain longer. And Defib is useless when you solo q because it depends on how good your random teammates are. Without Defib medium is actually a terrible class right now.

Light build is not the worst. HP doesn’t matter when your enemies use auto-aim cheat and deal you damage even if you’re behind a wall. But cloaking device is completely useless when cheaters use wall hacks

its not the worst class its the class that you actually need a brain to use medium is very strong for support yo can just not shoot and heal the heavy 24/7 heavy can tank alot of damage without nades or massive damage it takes a while to kill one light is a very selffish class providing little value for support, but light also can out put a lot of damage if played corretly all classes are good in their own way i advise you to play medium first and once you are decent with it than move on to the oter classes
