Its vry much used to b same in kashmir therefore v can vry much relate wid Israel tats it. In a Muslim major areas thre wil alwys b element of extremism. In mainlands of india also little Muslim kids r made to slaughter goats wid their own hands during bakri eid, little grls 3 yr olds r made to wear hijab, deny tem any formal education, send tem to study in Madrasas etc. tey r raising their kids wid mediaeval ideals who wil grow up to be intolerant towards othr religions, wil b violent, wid no regards towards human sufferings etc.

Abijit is always on top of anything he is called to comment or speak on. It's always a pleasure to listen to him. Having said that below are my thoughts: In every muslim republics only the leaders, clergy, army and police have a good life. The rest are treated as slaves. Any dissent is met with the most brutal punishment as a deterrent in accordance with the prescribed methods in their holy texts. For these reasons, gangs are formed, brainwashed, trained and served one purpose: to enjoy the benefits for the victors. Thus it should not be surprising that there will be factions within these countries controlling pockets of enclaves. All of these factions will claim to be subservient to the same creed and will go after each other in the name of their one God. They know the rewards on Earth and in heaven are many. To achieve these there are media, like Al Jazeera and others, who will call upon the toothless and clueless, but controlled UN , EU and other organisations to provide aid. All in all, as the world watches and takes sides and are taken for a ride, the factions engage themselves with ingrained consciences from their past, ie, destroy everything in the name of their beloved God.

Excellent comments on a very complex subject. I would add a couple of thoughts. Do authoritarian leaders tend to create enemies to help secure their position? Sufi philosophy is a common element to both Democracy and the Islamic World. Is it a factor in Hindu also?

Hindus are mostly live and let-live types but when your government engages in minority appeasement for 70 years to the point that they have more rights than the majority anything to balance this will be seen as Majortarian XD. When archeologists dig up evidence of temple destruction in the construction of Mosques which Indian communist Historians lied about for "communal harmony" how would the young population of Indians feel?
