The thing the maker of the flood mod didnt think to consider, was that the floods natural weakness besides fire was the cold. In cold biomes they couldve atleast moved slower. Because cannonically thats how they work.

I believe it was simply a misconception. A lot of times when you see and fight flood on forerunner installations is when it's snowing. The devs saw this correlation and probably thought the flood like snow/cold temperatures. However the actual fact is that the Rings generate inclement weather as a fail safe to help slow the flood during a containment breach. Once the Flood reaches critical mass they start to tamper with the environment with flood biomass to keep the environment in optimal conditions for Flood growth. It would be cool to see flood biomes on later days to counteract the snow for more favorable flood environments.

That feature has either not been implemented yet, or wasn’t thought of at the time. Them spawning during the snowy weather is a byproduct of how Minecraft monster spawns work and not a feature of the mod. (Rain, or snow in cold biomes, lowers light levels which allow monster mobs to spawn on the surface.)

When I had black mold a few years ago, I first scrubbed the moldy areas with some hot, soapy water followed by washing it with white distilled vinegar(or any commercially available antifungal) then just letting it sit for about half an hour or so and rinsed it off with like water mixed with some borax. You have to thoroughly dry the area with like a hair dryer or something though, because it can come back, especially if you let the area you cleaned stay wet and moist. Also, consider investing in dehumidifiers if you haven't already. But honestly, it would probably be better to just let professionals handle it since black mold is quite dangerous to work with

Heya bud, country farmer here. Whenever you leave cardboard in a damp wet dark environment...black mold grows on it. It's not necessarily the same 'black mold' that you are thinking of. It's just a mold that grows as the cardboard or tree particles begin to deteriorate and it's mostly from the fecal matter of the arthropods breaking it down. If you clean it out, spray the wall with a mixture of bleach and warm water you can usually wipe it away. If it persists growing after that is when you'll need to remove a section of the wall because you've got too much water content in that area and may need to fix your vapor liner. All can be done DIY if you're handy, but if not most likely gonna cost you a bit with a contractor. Good luck.

Black mold expert here: first, make sure any issue causing moisture in your crawl spaces gets fixed, dehumidifiers work well and/or French drains in basements. Get Fiberlock Shockwave concentrate , it’s a mold killer. You need to clean any mold growth areas with any normal cleaner. You then spray those areas with the Shockwave and spray enough that the surface is wet with the product for at least 10mins. You mix the Shockwave 2oz per gallon of water, but they also sell a ready to use version. Let it air dry and that should be good.

Black mold is the most dangerous, though i would try soaking it in rubbing alcohol that stuff kills everything at a high enough percentage. Its bad enough that if a building has it really bad then the building can get condemned so i REALLY truly hope that it doesnt happen to you.

Also if you SEE black mold, there is a LOT more you CANNOT SEE. that’s why testing the entire area/house is important.

Hey my mans, been a long time listener. I am both driven nuts by and love your approach in your videos . Wife actually joined me in Minecraft, fun fact, from watching you, Robert, Kim, and Shadows' videos. Anyways, not majorly important right now. I'm a doctor and I actually work a lot specifically with mold issues in people, both home and body. I have seen things from neurodegenerative issues to chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps. I don't know all of what you have gotten arranged or done so far, but I will take time and discuss that stuff with you. Some of the things you are describing symptomatically are absolutely mycotoxin and VOC responses. My wife and in-laws were poisoned by mold in their home over the course of 12 years and they all have had unique and shared health issues. Everyone is doing massively better, side note. Anyways, whatever is the best way to get in touch with you, let me know. I tried other means and kept hitting roadblocks. There's probably an email floating out there somewhere.

Now that I think about it, the parasites from the Scape & Run Parasites mod are actually very much inspired by the Flood from Halo. You can see it in a few of the mobs. The infector forms that Buglins merge into appear quite similar to the Flood infectors. As do the carrier forms. Infected villagers and zombies look quite similar to Flood combat forms, and some of the evolved combat forms resemble Flood pureforms. However I do believe that there are some key differences. The Flood generally lacked any infection forms capable of flight, whereas the Parasites have a few. Also there is no “final boss” of the Flood yet the Parasites have no grave mind or any other sort of guiding intelligence. This mod however seems a lot more loyal to the Flood as it is in Halo.

In case you still needed info on how to get rid of that black mold, here's some info for ya Locate the source of mold in your home. Gear up: Don disposable coveralls, rubber gloves, airtight safety goggles, and a face mask/respirator. Scrub the affected area with warm, soapy water. Spray pure, distilled white vinegar onto the mold and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Rinse the area with water and dry it with a towel or squeegee to remove excess moisture and prevent the mold from growing back. Use undiluted white vinegar on hard surfaces in kitchens and baths. Use a bleach solution to kill mold. Mix one cup of bleach in a gallon of water, apply to the surface and don’t rinse. Hope it helps!

I think that the Flood has to burrow into your skull to take you over. If you kill the thing before it gets in, I think you'd be okay. I can't imagine the pain of infection, though. Having your skull ahattered for something the size of a loaf of bread to burrow in? Yeesh.

In fact in Halo 3 you can see a half-infected marine snap its own head so that the assimilation can happen uncontested.

Fortunally (or maybe or unfortunally for something ill explain) tthese infection adding the flesh that hates fight each other and the Flood is pretty good at going through the hearth of the enemy infection territory. The problem is that each other fighting results in eveyone gaining more points and biomass than what they loose so everyone just grows faster than normal as they fight .

Creatures like the infected humans will get turned to combat human forms in the next update, though that is configurable. But anyhow, this way it would make it so that the flood grows on the back of other infection mods as well.

My advice for the caves is use the Chalk mod. It lets you craft chalk to leave yourself directional arrows and markings to help. It's pretty cool. When it comes to water freezing, put a half-slab or some other block that is water logged. That water won't freeze and lead to your crops dying due to drying out. I'm early in the video
