I'm so glad this mod is getting the attention it deserves! Because of all the recent KZbin videos about it, it's grown a ton in such a short amount of time. It's currently nearing 200k downloads after being created just a few months ago. It's still quite a ways from the 12 mil of Pixelmon, but with everything it has to offer and the community behind it, I have high hopes!

Cobblemon is not a competitor, it’s a replacement. A lot of the same developers, and simply improvements in almost all fronts. It’s just a better mod

true, it's better in every way, kinda sucks how there are no legends- or you have to download a different mod to have them or umm, well- there's no real use for pokemons, there are no gyms, bosses, or well, legendaries, unless you get a new mod

It would indeed be very difficult- potentially an AI could be used for the more menial work as to give artists/model designers more space to work on polishing them. Doubt it’ll happen though, that seems like a lot of effort

Funnily enough, Pixelmon has been louder than ever. It took Cobblemon taking off for them to even make a statement that addressed the notorious "waiting glitch" that pretty much just amounted to them admitting the logs they were asking servers to send them for years were basically unreadable. That's not even mentioning nostalgia mode which was very clearly conceptualized for a while but rushed out now as a result of this new mod breaking the mold.

I have been running this mod on my server for me and my friends and it just feel so more organic like it belongs in the world where the smooth 3d models of pixel mon just kinda takes you out of it.

Question.....if I get into playing this, I'd prefer to do it in peaceful mode to focus on the pokemon and not on the minecraft monsters. Yet, it sounds like you need these monsters to make things in cobblemon. Will this game have a peaceful option in getting mob drops without the mobs?

I think in their discord or KZbin channel it says you can disable it if you want too.

You don't need them since they've added some loot drops but some items haven't been added to them yet.

You can disable mob spawning as its own option outside of peaceful mode to avoid mobs and they'll only spawn from spawners. There are plans to have better ways to remove vanilla mobs entirely later down the line, as well as implementing the ability to fight vanilla mobs using your pokemon. Eventually, all items necessary for completing the game/crafting items will most likely be drops from battling Pokemon

I think with looting it may have to do with the way that you kill it. Not sure if its still in the game, but there was a bug which makes so whether or not looting takes effect depends on what you are holding when it dies, not what you killed it with. Since you swapped to something else before the death animation finished that may be why looting didn't work, assuming that the bug is the reason why it wasn't working. Interestingly, you were able to use this to your advantage because you were able to shoot something and then swap to a looting sword quick to get looting despite not killing it with your sword.

My biggest issue with Pixelmon is how grindy the crafting is, but the lack of actual progression, so much work put into one part of the mod, and none in the other. Like, the gyms are so lame. Idk, I haven't played Pixelmon in a while, could be better now.

Would love to see a featture in the future, that the more aggresive pokemon, like gyarados, aggron, nidoking etc that they are more likely to attack the player, maybe when the player punches them, or have them attack mobs etc

I'm not sure, I didn't have any issues like that. I used their official modpack from the technic launcher and just added the shaders to that. Hope this helps

I have an issue where a lot of the vanilla mobs keep spawning and eating up the mob cap. typing in the command or changing it in the "game rules" section during world creation doesn't do anything to change this. Does anyone know how to fix this?

And another thing about the smart is that it has easy crafts, which is so much better because you would need to find diamonds for some of the things you would need like a fossil machine or something I don’t know, but you need to find special orders that you need to file which were very hard like me and my friend we go to the mines and look for this order and it would take us hours or weeks which sucked but now that they’re iron golem are around I could just kill a fuel those guys and then I can go to the cave litter find some iron, probably even gold

And the best part, they have zombies and skeletons, and other mobs which I really like because I’m pig so much, it would be so boring no zombies chasing after you you don’t have to worry about your hunger. It really wasn’t a survival. The only thing you need it were Poké balls and you will need to find a lot of acorn trees in those would be hard to fine if you spot in the middle of nowhere I would really give this mod a 10 out of 10 or maybe even 100 I am going to download this and see if I would like this mud myself. Also seen how they add the new feature where you can customize your own Pokémon or you can make your own Pokémon but I’m going to probably make a video of it like he did with a little different. I don’t want to be a tutorial kind of guy because I think this is just too complex for me but I’m gonna see what kind of videos I can make with this mod
