Watching your badass character helplessly die in a slow, preventable way while surrounded by all the cool shit they built and looted is such an intense feeling that I've only experienced in Project Zomboid and Rimworld. It makes you mourn them for dying before they were 'supposed to', and now the only thing on your mind is to perserve their memory and to finish their story on a different character.

The boulders that raiding pawns hide behind offer significant cover against projectiles. Letting your pawns stand in the open while engaging enemies behind cover puts them at a huge disadvantage.
@Samwise_012 жыл бұрын
ye, if u read through this predz there's barricades in the security tab that you can construct that can function as cover for you own pawns, or you can set up stockpile zones for boulders in a line and create cheaper cover for your pawns to hide behind as well
@willwright27212 жыл бұрын
@@Samwise_01 yep, those are a little more effective than just rocks. Walls are the best cover.

@@ThatGuyPredz If I'm being honest, you should improve the thumbnails of your videos to be more eye-catching to attract new viewers and the people who have already subscribed to you in the past. For example, if you go and look at your most popular videos, nearly all of them have a big clear title in the thumbnail that has something to do with the content of the video. The thumbnail is a big part of what attracts people to click on them because it's the first thing we subconsciously see. We come because of the attractive thumbnail and interesting title and stay because of the great content and fun entertainment. :)

Watching this has made me realize how trivial the problems my colony currently faces are. They are in no particular: - a crippling lack of plutonium for nuclear tipped icbms. - a lack of customers to sell things to, which means I can’t afford to buy all the nuclear warheads I can from RimAtomics. - raiders dropping in the middle of my base and destroying the corpse of my war queen mech, mean i had to gestate another which took about a quadrum (luckily with helpful rimatomics research this should no longer happen). - one of my reactor control rooms is a shit shack I built out of plastic walls and wooden bridges. - constructdoid mechs being utter shit even with a mech booster nearby. - cavalry spikes and bridges being destroyed after every goddamn raid. - my oil production is somewhat unsatisfactory. But overall my colony is fine, we have like 30k corn and a bottomless supply of double aged whiskey, many giant defensive guns, concrete walls, 2 M1 abrams, nuclear CAS, 300 kW excess power, a legion of mechs, and an industrial base capable of producing literally thousands of components.

If an infection is in a limb (like a leg in your case), you can amputate it. This of course gets rid of the limb, but removes the infection completely. But if it's not in a limb (like your torso), you can of course not amputate it. Good video :]

I've tried this challenge before, except I played with Randy Random. After many failed attempts I learned a couple useful tips to survive the beginning. Most of these are really luck based on your spawn location, but nonetheless may help. When you spawn in deconstruct some walls and make a club to kill whatever animals are around, clubs are good for incapacitating animals. Next for shelter it's easiest to dig into a rock and start small to get inside, and you can expand freely whenever. Rice is of course the best crop to start with and since it takes a few days if you can get anything to sell worth money like gold, jade, or compacted machinery even, take it to a neutral tribe and sell it for pemmican. Once you get a good first harvest you're basically set on food assuming nothing happens to your crops. Lastly getting a Windmill, electric stove, and an ac unit was huge for keeping my colonist happy in the beginning and overall they're not too expensive with a decent spawn. You do need a construction of 4 or 5 to get all of those though. Love the rimworld content, hopefully the algorithm picks it up!
@Brocuzgodlocdunfamdogson2 жыл бұрын
Clubs are also great if you suck at crafting, since they don’t get a quality modifier. Sure, you can’t get a masterwork club, but you can’t get an awful or poor one either.

Someone in the comments has already mentioned the issue about boulders and the whole "cover system". But I have another thing, that devastates me. If someone was at the base with main character while he was having the last phase of infection, that pawn might save the "purple hat" by trying the last measure of amputating the left leg and replacing it at least with wood. The character, of course, will be severly damaged, but still alive 😥
