The dresses are so pretty, but after hearing everyone online complaining about fit issues, zipper issues and House of CB websites horrible return and customer service I am just going to sew a dupe myself. I found the mademoiselle dress a couple months ago and absolutely fell in love with it, the silhouette is so elegant! Thank you so much for the detailed review, really helped me finally decide wether or not I wanted to make a purchase

i wish i could sew!!! i would make my own dress too! Honestly I think it's not the dresses that stand out, it's the models. Also when I see influencers wear their dresses they all have a very specific body type, small waist, NO RIB CAGE!!! LOL.

2:38 hi I sew and just wanted to say those inner straps help to take any strain off of the side seams and zipper. It's a more high end dress making techniques that does shows they did put more thought and work into this dress. The first time I saw this kind of inner construction work was on an original new look gown from Christian Dior.

Love this video! House of CB's dresses are sooo beautiful, I just always wonder can people really breath when wearing it? Is it comfortable to sitting down?

So in the size small I can breathe and sit in the xs, while i can usually get them on with some struggle, I cannot breathe or move LOL!!! Honestly, unless you find a house of CB dress that fits perfectly, not too tight not too loose, then they are not worth the price. Like I said I find the fabric iffy.

So I don't trust UK companies! I bought from Oh Polly once thinking it was free return, but it was not (they never disclosed that they charged for return, just that you had to go through their portal)! They charged for shipping back. I bought everything from Nordstrom which has an excellent return policy. I've never had a problem returning anything to Nordstrom.

I only buy from Nordstrom. I've had UK companies not be completely transparent about their return policies so I always just buy from Nordstrom! Their return policy is basically iron clad!

Thinking about ordering, but unsure about the size. I'll go for a bigger cupsize, but waist would be a M, hips an L+. So probably going vor the bigger size and get it tailored i guess?

so if the dress you are looking at has a full skirt then i would go by your waist measurement! if not then yeah go with your hip measurement.

I want to order from them so bad, but I’m usually a size medium but yet you are the same size as me pretty much however you ordered smalls and extra smalls. But their site says to order your regular size. Too confusing.

I would go by measurements rather than size. If you are at the top of the measurement range for a size, go up to the next size.
