I haven't had any of my pets get *lost* per say, but I have a cat that likes to sneak out of the house and back in, and a turtle that is still tiny and gets in any space you think it *won't* be,. So they're not lost, just resting in very unique places 😅

Our dog got out of the yard and ran away overnight when I was a kid. We still lived in a pretty rural area so my dad and I took the car (a big 80s sedan) and drove over to an undeveloped subdivision near ours: no houses yet but roads were all poured. For some crazy reason he decided to go overland, but the car got hung up on a drainage culvert thing. I was about 8 years old and couldn't help. Out of nowhere a young guy and gal in a pickup truck drive up and ask if we need help. The guy and Dad are trying to move the car when the girl says, "oh what a cute dog!" & Here comes our dog running right up to us. It was a very weird turn of events but very glad we got her back. 💜

I thankfully haven't lost a pet but I wouldn't know what I would do if I had as I don't even think a pet detective would exist here in England. Guess that's also a reason as to why I wont get a cat, feel like they can go missing a lot easier than dogs.

Yes, my dog used to run away all the time. it was awful. luckily never overnight as i always found him. he loved the sound of my dads quad bike so just driving around the area with it guaranteed he'd be back soon 😂

Our boy cat is a chronic escapee. He likes to hide in the bushes in the front of our house or run to the neighbor behind us. All of which make him particularly hard to find as he is a black cat and he mostly slips out at night. We bought a red flashlight that's advertised as a predator light. It reflects back his eyes when he's hiding and we've been able to get him back every time. This discovery was after that time he was gone for 4 days and I designed, printed, and went door-to-door to post over 150 missing posters on the coldest nights on the year...but then he came back when we left his litter box in the garage...🤦‍♀️

Seeing Fujiwara's relief and hearing him talk about being able to sleep at night after finding their cat, and then their reaction to having her back home, was so heartwarming! It’s amazing his bond with animals formed from that run away experience in his adolescence, and that he’s continuing it in the form of a job(where he tries to reunite them w/ their family) so many years later 💙 It was so heartwarming to see Elsa found & reunited w/ her owner 😭

I've been watching so many of your videos, after i got introduced to your channel, and i just saw this one, and it broke my heart that so many pets get lost, and then got a very fuzzy and warm feeling that there are humans out there (At least in japan) who are literally pet detectives, and they go out and try to search for peoples pets, and i just wish that the US had something like that. As i lost 2 cats a few years ago, and it broke my heart to never see them again, and only recently i got news that, (one) they were saved and rehoused and (two) that shortly a few months ago they both passed away from old age, but were happy and taken care of very well. And overall, i just love animals so much, they teach us humans things that we didn't even know was possible, such as being able to love and being able to care for our little companions. I just wanna say thank you for making your channel, and thank you for introducing me to your channel, as well as introducing me to life in japan, one of the countries i forever have been wanting to go too, but just never had the money to do so, so thank you as said to introducing me to such a wonderful country.

I looooved everything about this documentary! Amazing editing and storyline, the super interesting main characters and their important job, the wonderful lady with the cats, the thrill of the search and of course the happy ending... You've really outdone yourself, Norm! Thank you for putting so much effort into your channel. It really comes through ❤

Only in Japan you can find really specific jobs like this and I'm glad they exist! Ngl I teared up when the owners were reunited with the cat. I could see so much love in their eyes. Having 3 cats myself I know the anxiety of a missing cat very well so it's good to see there are people who chose this profession. As usual, thank you for showing us a snippet of their world Norm.

Never knew there were people out there doing work like this. How amazing that they decided to live their life helping reunite people with their furry little loved ones. I remember how worried I was when my cat sneaked out before, so it's lovely seeing people help rid the world of that stress and worry
