Hello Toadstar! I don't usually comment or watch much videos, but I really like minions so I decided to check this one out! Sadly the voidling minion doesn't generate obsidian and ender pearls, but obsidian and quartz! (It does, however, generates ender pearls sometimes). Back when it was released, it used to be really good, and was also able to generate a byzantium dye (once in a lifetime though lmao), but this was recently changed and now they can't anymore, making them a bit worse overall. Now yes, if you compare it to most of the current money making minions, then yeah, they aren't worth going for... But they aren't bad in any means! A tier 1 voidling is better than a T12 obsidian minion, and quartz is a really good second ressource choice, with quartz minions being really good at making money on their own. (I believe it is the best mining minion for money overall atm, along with gravel, but gravel needs flint shovel and looses an upgrade spot in the process, making T12 quartz better.) I cannot agree with your claim at 11:24 : I must agree that this doesn't really apply to ironman, since they are way too hard to get in big quantities there. They would have to change the recipes for the gamemode, but not for standard. But let it be known that slayer minions are the best minions in the game overall, being way stronger than the rest. (For no reason other than being unlocked by slayer and being "slayer minions", which I do find dumb.) Slayer minions are protected from progression skipping by being able to be placed but not being able to be upgraded without having unlocked them first. (Again, bad game design from 2019, all minions should have that by default, but not being able to get placed in the first place if not unlocked.) Tanrantula is the best minion in the game since it was released, Rev got a T12 upgrade and is a combat XP machine... (Both get access to corrput soil too, of course! Why not!) Inferno is... Well, inferno. (one of the coolest minion in the game, what else is there to say?) Surprisingly, Vampire isn't a slayer minion. I think it should have been, since you can just buy one from someone and place it, then upgrade it yourself even if you never went in the rift. I believe voidling got worse as time went on because obsidian isn't really needed in that much quantities anymore. Not to mention, unlike all other slayer minions (I won't count inferno because of special fuel, but yes it would be the same case too) voidling is self-upgradable. Only material it cannot make on it's own is null spheres, but there is a high supply because terminator... Again, not the case on ironman. So it kind of self collapsed over time. It's still a slayer minion, though! Wouldn't be funny otherwise, so it's still busted when you use the upgrade made just for it : the soulflow engine. So it catches up again with the rest of the best minions in the game, being able to sell soulflow on the bazaar on top of getting the obsidian, quartz and ender pearls. Shame it isn't able to generate dyes anymore, though! I don't think they are "garbarge minion" by any means, and are still completely busted to this day. That was all, great video otherwise! I was pleasantly surprised.

Minions suck for combat xp, and using them for that purpose is stupid, and taras are way too expensive for what they are. I'm running a 10 T11 inferno minion setup and i do agree its great but for the cost its going to take around 1.6k days? But i had money to burn and they're cool. Slayer minions being the "best" in game doesn't matter since they take YEARS of paying off.

Yes, using a chimera daedalus axe to farm cane specifically when your pest cooldown is ready will let you spawn more pests, resulting in more money from farming than just using the cane hoe.
