Out of curiosity, why not just get a C70 at this point?
@haveagoodoneyt13 сағат бұрын
I wanted full frame. Of course that just turns the question into why not a C80. I also do want to take photos occasionally and can’t afford two separate cameras at the moment. Besides that there is the personal preference on liking a longer, shorter camera as opposed to the tall, vertical C70 and C80.

Love this build! I currently run the smallrig VB212 on my ursa mini, and it does give a read out of estimated time through the v-mount pins. I’m not sure if the VB99 was made differently or it’s a communication issue with the cineback.

Thank you! And that’s so awesome that the VB212 has that functionality, I was figuring it was more than possible. If I can get my hands on a VB212 or a different V-Mount system to test everything I’ll probably make a video about it. Seems like the 99 should have that read out for sure. And my battery does display it but only when drawing directly from the USB C’s on the battery. Thank you for the information, super helpful!!

I have the same kondorblue e6 dummy battery and I have trouble with it powering my camera with a v99 pro. Sometimes it acts like the battery is dead when I turn it on and it turns right off. Have you ever had trouble?
@haveagoodoneyt17 сағат бұрын
I haven’t ever had it turn off. The closest would be that sometimes I get a low power warning and the tally light flashes. But everything functions as normal even when that’s happening.

@ yea that’s what it does and turns off like if the battery dies. I sent a message to KB to see what they say

@haveagoodoneyt I literally can't wait to get mine for the S5iix. And then throw a 150mm zoom lens on there as well. With a huge Matte box. Lol

@ hahaha yes dude! Gonna be a beast! What stuff do you like to shoot?
@jayrey7Күн бұрын
@haveagoodoneyt actually I barely got mine. But I am aiming straight to making a BIG Hollywood film. I know wotht he S5IIX isn't going to help me do that. But it's a start. Work on making horror films.

Sweet man! Best of luck to you, and I hope I’ll see your name in the credits in a theater!

What if you used the Dtap for the monitor only, and used a reg internal battery and powered it off the smallrig via USB c to USB C on the R5c? Could use an angled usb c to make it shoot straight up and now out where your hand is? Another cable to worry about but it would give you backup power when your vmount goes out and you get that Runtime back going the usb C route

Bro. You’re speaking my language! I’ve tried that before especially because of the potential for an additional hour of battery life. I’m not married to the dummy battery but for some reason that’s what I keep going to. Oh! And the method you’re talking about is perfect for anyone shooting in 8K who doesn’t have an LPE6P battery so they can retain all their autofocus functions. That would be sweet!

I think I go dummy battery just because it’s so clean and I don’t shoot 8K in my work.

@@haveagoodoneyt you should try the Neewer 150WH Vmount, extra juice and doesn't hurt the bank! Think Amazon has them for $150 with a $30 coupon. Cam + monitor eats up batt , adding a slightly beefer Vmount works good! Half more power for not that much compromise on weight 💫

@ I’ll check it out!

I just send my r5c back when realizing how bad the battery runtime is (though firmware improved it) and sticked to the r5 which runs about 90 minute per charge, which is enough for me. batter switching takes about 5 seconds. about 1000 euros saved and 1kg less to carry. :)
@haveagoodoneytКүн бұрын
Very nice! R5 is a great camera. Do you mainly do video or photos? Or is it a mix of both for you?

Small rig may be a “trusted brand for cheap cheese plates or handles, but batteries? I don’t think so.

Guess I’ll be a good test subject. I’ll keep everyone updated to see if it holds up over time
