I would bet that for 99% of the miles you've done in that, an A35 would have kept up with you. Using that extra 100bhp is likely rarely used. It's the reason why the E class estate I just bought I went for an E400 instead of an E63 and I even live in Germany.

All I know is that a month ago I switched from a car that had 435hp to one with 333hp and to quote myself, 99% of the miles I do in it I'm not really missing that 100hp. Sure, I might now be at full throttle where previously I might have been at 75%, but that's OK. If I were at full throttle in the previous car (and I was, a lot) some of it would be eaten by the traction control, some by wheel spin, and ultimately I'd get to the next point where I have to slow down only a second quicker than someone in a car with 100hp less. Ultimately I just don't think you're getting value for those horses up top. Now someone could say to me then why don't I get a car with 200hp and I'd argue that's way too extreme. I've owned 3 cars with more than 400hp and fun though they were, I was overpaying and not getting the value of those horses (well, there was that time at 186mph on the A9 Autobahn that I wouldn't give up the memory of).

@@zIBaXiiIz That's how I've thought in the past. Maybe next car I'll over compensate and end up with 600+hp. So far I'm happy with my fuel consumption having gone down by a third and not feeling so guilty in terms of being a climate botherer. Sure it takes me 5 seconds longer to hit the speed limiter but the benefits outweigh that negative. As for looks, whoever specced my car in 2018 got the full AMG styling pack on it.

The tech is amazing and not much will be quicker on a back road. However 60k for a 2 litre 4 pot... I’d go second hand m5, 911, e63 maybe even R8.

I Love my AMG A45s we just came back from Ibiza. The A45 has enough space for four people luguage included. Great driving on Ibiza and also very good for long distance on the Autobahn.

Hopefully that RS6 will still show up at some point and use of A45 and M8 will be overruled. That estate is so much of the car, got enough potential for mods and keep this channel goin. Will be waiting for this.

A45S and M8 serve the same purpose. Pretty much the same type of car.. You should look into selling the A45S and with the bags you got from selling the GT3 RS, you could probably buy a 720S or something to go along your M8

The new A45s is of course a really good car, massive improvement from the previous one BUT 60k is tooooo much. For an AMG fan, it is insane that M2C cost about the same with 2 more cylinders.

Nice vid! It’s interesting you both mention the A45S is way faster than the M2C which would actually be an issue for me. I have an M2C which is already too quick to enjoy on public roads most of the time so anything faster may be even worse. This was my issue with the TTRS also

A45s is 3.9 secs and the bm is 4.4 I believe so yeah quite a bit faster

A45s as an overall package is more desirable than an M2C imo. However the M2C is v nice and offers decent value for money. But Paul shld have spec’d the Big brake kit..

It would be better if you had created a video whereby you compare the lease deals on each and is the extra on the Merc worth it etc. Especially with the current economy it would represent more real life for potential buyers. Personally would wait 2 or 3 for the depreciation before going anywhere near these cars which are I ow to bomb in price.

If I was in a position where I could afford something similar I think I’m choosing RS3 personally. A 17/18 plate saloon would be my preference. Not to take away from the 45 but the price is scary to be honest, well for me anyway.

But when you include some important packages in the Rs3, the price rises up almost higher than than the a45s. What Audi did is that since the new Rs3 came after a45s was released they used the the price advantage to convince customers, of which I find no difference

I own an A45S,trust me nobody pays £60k. As for what it will be worth in a few years,well i couldn't care less,i buy what i enjoy driving and don't look to buy because of what it might be worth further down the line,If it were about the money then i wouldn't buy a car in the first place and leave the cash in the bank.I think it is pretty sad if you let a resale price dictate to what you buy. As a side note i also own a Mitsubishi Evo, purchased purely because it is a fun car to drive,but it has shot up in price,but i would still have bought it even if it would be worthless in a few years.
