Hey everyone, I want to be upfront with you. I created a thumbnail that I thought was lighthearted and funny at the time, but I realize now it didn’t land the way I intended. I’ve heard your feedback loud and clear, and I’ve updated the thumbnail. Misleading anyone was never my intention, and I take full responsibility for missing the mark.

Loved the video, nice and in depth and non-biased review, my only concern with this video was the thumbnail, to show the battery smoking in the thumbnail with the title as well, made me believe this video would talk about this battery exploding. Then to click and watch the video and find it has nothing to do with that makes me trust the video less as it is click bait. I think this is a line a lot of creators are struggling to walk to make the thumbnail as engaging as possible but it should avoid being misleading just to get views.

That thumbnail was a bit misleading and I don’t know if you have heard, but there has been problems with the small rig batteries as a matter fact, one of my batteries cause my FX 30 to freeze up on a job. I’m a little leery of the batteries now I’m probably switching companies. And when I spoke to one of the salesman at B&H, he is informed me that a lot of people have been coming back with defective small rig batteries

Not only is the thumbnail blatant clickbait, you’re throwing Caleb Pike under the bus with it. You’re almost certainly one of the many people who have learned from him like most of the people who watch your channel. You should change the thumbnail and apologize to Caleb at minimum.

I’d like to share my experience with the SmallRig mini V-mount batteries. I own three VB99 -two original versions and one PRO-and all three malfunctioned within just a few months of purchase. On the positive side, SmallRig’s customer service has been impeccable; in each case, they promptly sent me a replacement unit free of charge. However, these issues were incredibly frustrating, particularly as they occurred during film shoots abroad, where waiting for the replacement battery was no option. There's also the environmental impact to consider, as nearly-new batteries ended up discarded. I own many SmallRig products, and while they generally offer good value for the money, I believe they have reliability issues that can be problematic in professional settings.

Hello Jonathan. We are truly sorry for the negative experience you've had. We prioritize user experience and value your feedback immensely. Could you please share the specific issue you are encountering? I will promptly reach out to our product manager and technical team to investigate the matter thoroughly. Our aim is to pinpoint the root cause and offer a viable solution. As KZbin comments do not support email correspondence, may I kindly ask you to share the details of the problem either through Instagram or email? Thank you sincerely for your understanding and assistance.

I’m unsure how this while thumbnail thing works on KZbin, and maybe this was auto generated. But a smoking battery thumbnail is a really bad look unless this thing actually overheated. And if this thing did, in fact, overheat and Caleb is, in fact, a “friend,” perhaps you should have addressed this him privately before publishing that thumbnail or this review?

Armando did mention this, but it might get lost in the thumbnail issue. This is a major key with repeating: almost all USA airlines limit the amount of juice you can have in any single battery. And all USA airlines require you to bring those batteries into the cabin: you cannot have these batteries in any checked batteries.

If you need 212 probably a great option, but the 99w there are so many better cheaper options. I just got 3 neewer batteries for 62.00 each on Black Friday. I like they have the USBc ports on the side and not on top where they hit your hands or are not ideal. Hope Smallrig thinks about that on their next model.

I have two of these. One of them has a screwy d-tap port. I’ve used them with a teradek bolt 6 750 transmitter. One of the ports won’t work right, where the teradek will power up, then die, then power up, then die, and repeat. Otherwise they’ve been great. Sometimes I will prefer the 99wh for handled shots, cuz it’s heavyyy.

212's are coming into question as people are complaining of power issues resulting in corrupted files and camera repairs. The 212 was the common denominator in every situation. At this point I will not purchase smallrig batteries- especially the 212.
@SmallRigGlobal2 күн бұрын
Hi @timdanyo898~ Our battery features overcurrent and overvoltage protection modes. In the event of over-power detection, it will automatically disconnect the output of the D-tap port, thereby preventing damage to the equipment. If you have any problems with our battery, please feel free to contact us. We are always ready to offer help. We have complete after-sales policy and 1-Year Warranty for Electronic Products. Please do not worry about it. If you have any other questions, please kindly let us know.

Batteries should not have so much crap on them…this is a scheme to try and please too many potential buyers. I sold my SR v-mounts for Swit CIMOs because they are a legacy battery brand and you know that the batteries will last for years. What people fail to realize is that the bells and whistles on a piece of equipment the fewer resources for core qualities like quality of parts. Basically, when it comes to batteries it’s best to have a no-nonsense approach and buy the most basic ones from legacy brands so you know they will last a long time and be as reliable as possible under the most different types of circumstances.

Dear @timdanyo898, VB99 SE and VB99 pro mini have independent circuit design to support simultaneous fast charging for USB-C and USB-A devices.
