@@matthewwatson5029 There's also something to learn for viewers when he said he doesn't take positive reception personally in regards to love and praise. I imagine it can invoke a sad and disappointed feeling for some. But it reminds us to express these feelings out into the void with no expectation of some return. We are giving to share, to feel. Both in a sense can work together. Yes existing is exhausting by the stuff you do or can and want to achieve. But at the end of the day you don’t achieve what you want there’s no need to beat yourself up over it because there’s always the next day to keep trying, being there and having the same feeling of wanting to achieve it. It’s all about you want to go through life and your perception ig is what I’m trying to say. Sorry if I thought too deeply 😀👍🏼

I think what strikes people (me included) about Mark is the lack of false humility. Like, the guy clearly knows that he’s made some cool stuff, and he’s allowed himself to be rightfully proud of it. I see so many creators do the whole “I would be nothing without you guys” and almost encouraging the weird parasocial relationships creators and fans can have. That’s not something I see Mark doing as much, and it really shows that he likes the famous position he has without letting it change him as a fundamental person.

Even though Mark admits he's not the best person I believe that he exhibits good qualities of a human in all his work like charities, interaction with fans and this interview, it makes it hard to see him as a bad person now becusse of the pain and trauma he experienced (losing a father, having a tumor etc). One video that reminds me of this is the video of him getting his wisdom teeth removed and then seeing him be so nice and sobbing. I know he was high after the surgery but in a way it brings out the true mark inside because of how sincere and emotional he was in that video.

So I discovered that up until you turn 18, you've spent over 90% of your time with your family. My sister died when 3 moths after my 18th birthday. She was about 19 at the time of her death. And we're suing the medical center for malpractice and using unconventional methods that only worsened her mental and physical health. We had a nice funeral. I never noticed how much time I spent with my sister until she ended up dying. So I'm very thankful that I was able to spend 90% of my time with her. and she lit up my world. She made me feel better when I was down, and going forward, I would have to accept the fact that I'll never experience that from anyone else ever again.

The story of him being in church when his phone blew up I feel actually symbolizes his growth in even more ways. It's very likely that in that church at that moment, was about the same number of people that subscribed to his channel. And even now, filling an assembly building of any kinda like that is still a *big* success for absolutely anybody. Don't downplay the 'little' victories just because channels that have been around a long time have millions of subs and the like.

Mark talking about how pain puts things into perspective is so true. I've been through a lot of emotional, mental and physical pain; so when I hear someone complain about stuff, a lot of the time it just seems so mundane. I don't mean that in a way to invalidate their pain; it's just that when I think about what I've been through and what others have been through, it becomes minor in comparison. I used to think my period cramps were the most painful thing ever; then I got a birth control inserted into my uterus, vomited and almost passed out from the pain. Now, every other pain I feel isn't so bad. I thought finding out my ex cheated on me was the most painful thing ever; then my dad died. Now, I don't think anything will ever be as painful as that. Or at least outside of other people in my life dying.

I’ve been handling my deceased Father’s estate for almost two years. Hearing Mark say there’s a pay off to pain, is all I needed to hear. I know mines coming one day, but gosh it’s rough to get there.

It's sad to think Mark doesn't feel like he can ever have that connection with fans like he had in the beginning. Especially since he does connect with his audience in such a meaningful way. He doesn't need to be the greatest ever because he's a really great guy and I think it's something most people don't value enough. Learning to love yourself, as Whitney Houston sang, is the greatest love of all. You keep on doing you.

When Mark started talking about him loosing his dad at 18 years of age, some part in me just felt like it got torn apart. I lost my dad when I was 17 right on Christmas Eve, and now I feel both happy that I have statistically spent most of my time with Dad and sad that I couldn't have more. You're a great man Mark, never forget that.

i lost my mother and my baby sister a month apart from each other in december 2020 to january 2021 when i was 16. it’s such a weird feeling knowing that someone i look up to and relate to SO much has felt a pain equivalent. it’s almost mind boggling.

And here we are, few years after [redacted] ended, and the whole topic caught me in my feels again. I'm crying on the bus, as I'm laughing because Mark, Ethan, and Amysl still cannot understand how much it truly meant to us. To have something to hold on to during some of the most unpredictable times of our lives, to know that they were there just for the joy, and just for us - our little community. Thank you Anothony for sharing this conversation, and yes, also, thank you for the pokemon theme video, and for epic food battles. Truly a pioneer, and you didn't even know ❤️

*By the time that you're 18, you've spent 90% of your time with your parent* Mark: "For a lot of people hearing that, that sounds really bad. My dad died when I was 18. When I heard that, that was the most comforting thing I've ever heard in my life cuz it meant I got 90% of the time that I would have with my dad" That is one of the nicest things I've ever heard anyone say

As an aspiring filmmaker, seeing Mark create things like Who Killed Markiplier and the storyline that followed, Heist with Markiplier and now In Space With Markiplier has been my lightning in a bottle inspiration. Seeing someone who started screaming at videogames in their house making these incredible film-quality projects has helped me to envision me actually making the shit I dream of one day making. I sincerely doubt he will, but should Mark ever see this, know you've inspired at least one person out there.

Just know Mark has cried because he knows he’ll never have personal connections with the billions of lives he’s changed and inspired. He’s read comments and talked to fans at cons though, so he knows how much his fans love him and how much of an impact he has and can have on them. Just look at his ‘Watch This Video When You’re Feeling Down’, he could’ve kept that feeling and idea to himself but he pulled out a camera and spoke his mind, now that video means so much to so many people, and a lot return to it to feel comfort and love from a man who does genuinely care about his fans and the impact he has on them. He may create a lot for himself but he will always be such a loving selfless dude. Good luck on your career steering, I know Mark would be cheering you on if he could.

And I swear when he was saying about pain and his father made me tear up ik he was kinda hurt to say that but it was amazing how he control his emotions im glad that he got amazing people supporting him and I can’t see a way how people can ever hate him hes the kindness person you’ll see. Ik I’m writing this shit mad late but I really wanted to get this out.
