Short trips and not letting the s54 properly warm up and heat cycle are exactly what cause these engines to spin rod bearings. But then again, I'm sure if he paid over 100k for an e46 he can afford another 1k to do the rod bearings

Congratulations, Mickey! It's fantastic. So funny, we just spoke of my #1 goal/"dream" cars over time. You're working backwards. It's been the GT3 the last 12ish years, which replaced this, an LSB E46 M3 for 7 years. Next, you'd need to get a 2000 Honda/Acura Integra Type R. I gave my manual 2003 Topaz blue M3 to my 18 year old son. It has full Dinan suspension, exhaust and HRE wheels. The car now sits at 85,000 miles. I had it detailed, ceramic coated and ppf on the front end. It mostly sits in the garage and never sees rain. I probably washed it more than I drove it.

Congratz bro! I currently own a PRISTINE 2002 LSB M3 Convertible SMG with less than 70k miles. Garage kept for over 10+ years and rarely see's the sun, I put maybe less than 1k miles a year on it. Seeing this auction and this video brought so much joy to me as it gave me some sense to what my car, could be worth if I ever wanted to sell it on BAT. Maybe sometime in the future. Enjoy my friend! I have the same LSB e46 M3, but mine is convertible, I had to upgrade many parts to make it handle like a coupe, great chassis, my favorite car besides the Porsche GT3

@@mikolizazi you need to upgrade the sway bars front and rear, to stiffer ones, get a set of high quality coilovers, I don’t know if the 330c comes with a 3 point brace, if not get an upgraded one, get multiple braces all front and rear to stiffen the whole body, and reduces body flex to same level as a coupe, it would probably would have less body flex than a e46 stock coupe

I know its very tempting to daily, but with the very thick 10w60 these cars run the first cold miles are very harsh on the bearings, so only doing short drives can be damaging, just something to take into consideration

My other “unpopular” suggestion is try an oil that comes up to temp faster….in my case it was Total 10W60 …but it ran slightly over 210 during the summer.

Unfortunately the cast iron block means the oil takes a while to get up to temp, 3 miles to work wont be enough to get it over 200F and be able to wind it out.....Looks like you'll be taking the long way to work every day ;)

in cameras whether video or pictures it looks like this amazing shade of blue. But in person to the naked eye it has way more of a green tint to it giving it a greenish blue look. Result is everytime I see an LSB car on youtube I love it and think it's amazing. Then I see one locally in person and its not for me. Interlagos is a better e46 blue imo.
