Our camp was a half mile south of where you are. Ida took it out, but we would catch more fish at night then running around all day. Trouts, reds, flounder (sometimes), sheepshead, etc. With the diversion coming we are not sure we are going to rebuild, but man I miss it. The dock is still standing, might have to do a night trip.

I went 2 weeks ago to PAC kayak marina rented a house boat. I have always been a fresh water guy growing up in Kentwood all my life but iam hooked now on saltwater. I found out poping corks don't work light fishing. Soft plastic right under the water works. I used a white bass bait. Trout loved it every cast I had fish all around 14 inches. Almost invariably, small baits work far better at night than big ones. I've never heard a sensible explanation for why that is.

All them camp trout..... one day before trout regulations we caught over 300 trout just like that in Chauvin. 3 fishing and 2 fileting then we would switch up. Had a 48 quart igloo full of filleted trout. Good times.
