Ok for those who werent aware, Brightspirit was a character introduced in tribute to a fan who died. Her parents had written to the Erins a few times about how their daughter was a big fan so when the Erins found out she died in a natural disaster, they made Brightspirit to honour her. The sequence is still REALLY weird and out of nowhere, but that's why it exists.

Her parents, Shiningheart and Braveheart, were also there. I always found the scene fascinating as it hinted at a “primordial spirit” kind of concept, that there were outside forces that were there in StarClan like angels and stuff. I even made my own Dark Forest warriors off of of the concept(Darkspirit, Ghostface, Brokenheart, etc). I understand now it was just a tribute moment, but honestly, they could really take the concept and run with it.
