I was on a pro-Israel march in Vancouver and was really happy to see a young man holding an Iranian flag (pre-Islamist revolution) and giving us the peace sign as we marched past him. It surprised me and encouraged me to see someone from an Islamic country supporting Israel. There is hope!!!

I also found the interview of Dr. Qanta Ahmed a Muslim lady who documented the atrocities committed by Hamas on Oct 7th, she said If we allow Oct 7 to occur and become silent we become complacent which is immoral. That two hostages were being held by employees of the UN! There needs to be a through investigation into where the funds for aid that were spent by Hamas into =building the tunnels (cement and electrical wiring) and not on the civilians in Gaza. She is concerned about the radicalized of the youth in the west.

I heard the same thing about the Red Cross from the victims of the floods and wildfires in BC. Therefore I donated to local companies who were matching the donations, which is going directly to the people who had to be evacuated and loss their homes. The Red Cross has not visited the Ukrainian POWs in Russia, the Belarusian Red Cross has admitted to abducting children from Ukraine, into Belarus whom many ended up in Russia for adoption by Russians.

Once people understand that the Jews were chosen to keep the faith and follow G-d’s laws - not as the favourite child, they might stop their jealousy. Think how many times Jews have been persecuted and killed but they haven’t given in and converted to another religion. It’s because G-d knew they would be stubborn enough to hold onto their beliefs. If you have 5 children and your family pet is clinging onto a piece of wood in a river, which child do you send to rescue your pet? Two of your children can’t swim, one is too young, one is a good swimmer and a strong boy, the fifth child has the flu. Naturally you send the strong swimmer - does that make him your favourite child? Of course not, so why be jealous? Just be grateful that you had one who could do the job on behalf of all of you. How many people would prefer to be the “chosen” people and suffer what the Jews have had to suffer for being chosen to obey. Time to let go of that excuse for hating Jews.

Vivian, I noticed the same thing you did regarding the disrespect shown to released hostages by the IRC. I also noticed the same male IRC member touching and pulling hostages towards him, hugging them. They have had all their personal agency stolen from them and this jerk/total stranger thinks he can touch them! I observed some try to pull away from him. As a survivor, I was sick to my stomach.

As much as I side with Israel, and consider it alone and isolated from the world, There is no other group that is more alone than the Palestinians and the Arabs who want peace with Israel. Who like Israel and seek to be empathetic, peacemakers and understanding. These Arabs are alone, they can't even count on their own family. I am an Iranian and most Persians I know love Jewish culture, Israel and its people. We wish we could live in peace together with our Jewish friends in Israel one day. First of all lets get rid of our Mullahs wich was force upon on us. They are not Persian and have no respect for our ancient culture. King Cyrous(Kourosh) is our culture. I've heard that only about 30% of Iranians identify as Muslim now. In 1979, just after the Shah was kicked out, my parents travelled through Iran on their way home to Australia. My mum sat with an Iranian woman in a park in Tehran and even though they didn't know each other's language, the woman made it clear that she didn't like what had just happened, that now her country was taken over by the mullahs.

As an Iranian Canadian, xmuslim, despite all the anti-Israel media push, I still stand with Israel. Even if we no longer go for a two state solution, even if Israel’s plan is to take over all of gaza and the West Bank, I would still support Israel. Because I know, based on first hand experience, that the outcome of an Israeli government, will be better for even the Palestinian Muslim communities living there. The founding of any state has a purpose. In case of the Palestinian nationalism we are getting int murky water, historically and ethically. Arab people did live in the land but never until recent called themselves by a collective name, especially a name starting with a letter that does not exist in Arabic - the P. How they ended up with it shows how dishonest their nation building process is. A nation created to annihilate the other cannot thrive. Israel was never given the choice to normalize relations. Do you know Mordechai Kedar's idea of Palestinian emirates solution? Its a clan based mini State approach, not modelled on Monaco or the Vatican but on the little Gulf States. Maybe....
