I'm so happy to hear everything is okay! As an ER nurse, it's always very difficult and upsetting to care for parents experiencing a loss, as there is nothing medically we can do to stop it. I'm so happy and relieved this was not the case and you had great news!! Sending all the prayers to you

I had a sub chorionic hematoma when I was pregnant with my daughter, mine was quite severe so my doctor put me on bed rest for a few weeks until it resolved but it eventually did and my baby girl was born healthy and is 6 years old now! ☺️

I'm happy to hear everything is okay. I had the same thing happen to me at 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby. The ER didn't even pick up on it. They told me I was probably having a miscarriage. I followed up 2 days later with my OB and she told me what was causing the bleeding. I bled bright red from 6-14 weeks. She is now a healthy 7 year old.! I have a feeling you'll be okay too 🙂

I had the same thing when I was pregnant. The doctor told me pelvic rest, don't lift he didn't even want me pushing the buggy at the store. But it resolved itself and I had a normal healthy pregnancy and beautiful baby. I am sending you lots of prayers ! And love ❤

Hi Caitlyn! When I went through IVF and bled/spotted in the early weeks-all turned out wonderfully! My doctor explained it as implantation spotting. He also said some women bleed like crazy and have a perfect pregnancy. Just keep yourself calm, take it easy and drink a lot of water. 💓🙏🏻

I’m so sorry you had to experience this, I know how scary it can be! I had that with my first pregnancy, it was hard to fight off the thought of miscarriage even after I found out what it was. It was about 5 years ago now, but I believe I had 2-3 boughts of light bleeding early on in that pregnancy. But it did clear up on its own and ended up with a healthy baby girl!! Continued prayers for a healthy pregnancy!

I’m currently 13 weeks and was diagnosed with a SCH at the first appointment at 7 weeks. I didn’t have any bleeding before I found out, so it was a shock and I didn’t know it was a thing, but have had minor bleeding since that has gone away rather quickly. This is my second pregnancy and I did not have this with my first. I’ve been on pelvic rest and a weight limitation until it’s gone but it’s projected to go away around 20 weeks. I’ve had more appointments to monitor this and each have required an ultrasound but it’s still scary. I’m thankful I get to see baby more often but knowing it’s not something that is usually a huge concern if monitored puts me at ease, and hopefully will for you too!

I had an SCH with my first pregnancy at the same gestation (6weeks4days) that caused major bleeding for me-I was sure I was miscarrying and had a similar ER experience as you. I was on pelvic and modified bed rest for 4 weeks and then just pelvic until 20wks. Mine resolved by 20weeks completely and my daughter is now 2.5! I’m currently 34week3days pregnant with my second and had an SCH early on with this pregnancy as well. Stay positive and hopeful! My bleeding came and went throughout my first trimester but completely resolved (mine mostly reabsorbed and partially shed and bled out) in both pregnancies by 20wks! I know how scary that time is! Thinking of you!

Thank you for sharing your experience 💕 I also have a subchorionic hematoma, I am 11 weeks pregnant! I haven’t experienced any bleeding. But when my midwife told me they saw that on my ultrasound, I was initially so concerned after also having a miscarriage last summer. I think in early stages of pregnancy everything is so fragile so any little hiccup is just so scary and sends you down a dark tunnel. My fingers are crossed that we both go on to having healthy & happy pregnancies! ✨💕

I know how scary this can be. It happened with my first pregnancy and I had a huge gush of blood and passed a very large clot and I was terrified I was losing the baby. Such an emotional time. With light rest, and time, some spotting, it was completely cleared by the second trimester and my daughter is a healthy 7 year old now. Hugs to you, mama.

My sister had a subchorionic hematoma with her last pregnancy, following a miscarried pregnancy as well. She now has a happy, healthy 10 month old baby boy ❤ Pelvic rest helped her quite a bit! It corrected itself by 20 weeks. She bled off and on for about 8 weeks and then it just stopped. Prayers to your sweet family!

Had a subchorionic with 3 out of my 4 pregnancies Best thing to do is pray and take it easy… no lifting… nothing strenuous, stay hydrated. My 3rd… I had to get a wheel chair because every time I moved, I would bleed. His didn’t resolve until I was 24 weeks. The others resolved around 18-20 weeks. Take it easy and I am praying for you and your little peanut! 🙏🏽

Same happened to me with my 2nd. I was 8 weeks pregnant and I went to the ER and sat there by myself (because of covid)for 5 long hours praying and hoping it's not a miscarriage. Finally got to see a heartbeat during the ultrasound. I was grateful the tech showed me. Turns out I had a subchorionic hemorrhage. I was on modified bedrest and pelvic rest for about a month. She was completely fine rest of the pregnancy. She's 6 months now. Praying for a healthy pregnancy for you

I also had a subchorionic hematoma at 12 weeks during my first pregnancy. I woke up at 6AM with a gush of blood, and it didn’t slow down until 12PM. Spent the whole morning in the ER, everything turned out fine (thank goodness) but the wait, the technician not being able to say anything - all was so scary. I had a successful pregnancy and baby boy born last September, but it caused me so much anxiety the rest of my pregnancy. I continued to bleed and spot until 20ish weeks. It had resolved on its own. I guess it’s fairly common, but not talked about enough IMO. I am so sorry you experienced this as well, and I’m happy everything continues to be okay. You’ve got this. ❤️❤️

Any bleeding is terrifying during pregnancy especially after a miscarriage..I had back to back last year so I can relate to your fears. Try to rest as much as you can and hang in there momma. It's a fairly common thing

I was five weeks along, out of nowhere I started gushing blood, I went to the drs, they did an ultrasound, told me “I don’t see anything in your uterus. Your uterus isn’t at 5 wks” that was that, I wasn’t pregnant anymore. A week later I still felt super nauseas, just thought my hormones are still trying to get back to normal. Drs called and said “let’s just go ahead and check your hcg levels” did a blood draw, my levels were around 11,000. I went from 4 weeks pregnant, to “not pregnant” to 6 wks pregnant. It was quite the roller coaster! My son is now going to be 19 on the first and he’s in the Navy. His pregnancy was completely fine from that point forward, was 9 days overdue with him and he’s been amazing from the first moment. I know the feeling you’re talking about, the absolute devastation when the blood appears and the preparation for miscarriage. I was told I DID miscarry, so I am thankful technology has caught up and can spot a sub chorionic hematoma much easier these days. They actually told me “it could be that, or it was a twin that you lost” so I still wonder sometimes 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sending you all a big hug!! I experienced a SH at 10.5 weeks with my youngest son. Very scary, as I too thought I was miscarrying based off of the clots and bleeding I was having at the time. My symptoms were also very similar to what I had experienced with my two previous MC that I had before him. I went for weekly- bi-weekly appointments until I was 20 weeks. I continued to bleed and have clots up until that point. But, my SH resolved at 20 weeks and he was born healthy and at full term♡ Praying that your little bean continues to grow healthy and strong! ❤ Many blessings to your little family.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had a subchorionic hematoma last year with my now 9 month old. This was after two miscarriages while trying for number 2. Oh momma, it is so scary! I am glad baby is okay! I had the same thing. I was spotting and cramping which scared me. I know some spotting is normal but this was more than “normal” in my mind. So at my first appt, my doc scheduled me for an emergency ultrasound. And found out I also have a SCH. Baby had a healthy heart rate of 146. This all happened when I was 7wks 3days. Spotting started around 6wks 5days. But it’s quickly resolved itself! I am now 11wks 2days. I listen to baby’s heartbeat all the time on my at home doppler. It’s so reassuring hearing that heartbeat. My doc said all women have a 10% chance of miscarriage. When you have a SCH, it goes up to 15%. But with a health heartbeat, not over 35, and other health conditions, not to worry too much!

I had a SCH at about 7 weeks with my twins. Didn’t do IVF but I did work with a fertility center and did Clomid with IUI. My story was very similar- a gush followed by a few hours of mild to light bleeding. I thought for sure I was miscarrying. I went to my fertility center the next day and got to hear the heartbeats 💞 I never had any more issues after that scare. Hoping the same for you!

When I was in my first trimester I started having SEVERE stomach pains one night and was scared is was miscarrying so I went to the ER and they told me I had a subchorionic hemorrhage but because they were not my OB they couldn’t say what would happen, but there was a 50/50 chance I was going to miscarry. I was in SO much pain that I was convinced I was. My ultrasound tech also told me she could not tell me, I would have to wait for my OB appointment… but she then whispered to me “don’t tell anybody.. the baby looks okay there is a heartbeat” and I was so relieved. I had to wait til a few days later to go to my ultrasound clinic because it was a weekend but I could not imagine the torture it would have been if that tech did not tell me the baby had a heartbeat. I understand the laws and liabilities but ugh, what a horrible thing to go through. Baby ended up being okay, and the severe pain was a kidney stone. Hope the everything else is smooth for you!

I had a natural pregnancy and also had a sub hematoma. It freaked me out as well because nobody ever warned about it and I didn’t have it with my first pregnancy. I was told that it could resolve on its own and I might bleed a little bit or my body would absorb it. Well my body totally did. The next ultrasound it was gone!!!! I had placenta previa with both ivf babies (more common with ivf). I had to go to a specialist to have them monitor both babies, both of my pregnancies. At 20 weeks with my second ivf baby I bled a lot, all at once, in a gush and then for several days after. I too went to the ER. It was terrifying. It is all a waiting game when carrying a baby. My dr. said you will worry like this until you have that baby in your arms. I told myself everyday, sometimes all day long, that we ARE having this baby. I did this with both pregnancies. You have to tell yourself and Jesus. As long as they check and see that baby is okay then you should be fine. The bleeding will stop. You will have this baby when you are supposed to. You will be holding your full term healthy baby this year. Say it and more importantly believe it.

Hi Caitlyn, I had a very difficult first pregnancy with my son. He is 12 now! This was a natural pregnancy. I went to the ER at around 6 weeks, multiple times with heavy bleeding which was a Subchorionic Hematoma. At 14 weeks, things were pretty quiet…but then at 20 weeks, I had a massive bleed. I was transported by ambulance from one hospital to a better one well equipped with perinatologists and critical level NICU. I was diagnosed weeks later with Placental Abruption resulting in Pre-Term Labor. I stayed hospitalized for weeks needing a blood transfusion and was heavily medicated to prevent my son from coming too early. He was taken eventually by emergency c-section at the end of my 26th week. He is now completely healthy and thriving after the long ordeal, my miracle. Eventually, I was diagnosed also with Protein S Deficiency. I have 3 beautiful children and several in heaven. I know the pains you are experiencing and my heart goes out to you. My best advice is to rest as much as you can and drink lots of water. ❤️

I'm currently 23 weeks and 5 days with my 4th child, and it's a boy. My others are a boy from my first marriage who will be 8 this year, 2 girls who will be 5 and 3 this year from my second marriage. My now husband has been a step father to my first child since he was 1 years old, so this is my husband's first son of his own, so this pregnancy is a little more special than the others. I've had a hemorrhage since the beginning of my pregnancy, bled from the beginning of my pregnancy to about 18 - 19 weeks. I have blood in my uturus and on my placenta, but my hemorrhage is slowly shrinking. The day I started bleeding really heavily, I ran to the hospital immediately, thinking the worst had happened. It was going to be a 4-hour wait, even for me who was "having a miscarriage," so I called my OB, and they told me to come there instead. I didn't want to do an ultrasound because I was afraid to see my lifeless baby, but HE HAD A HEARTBEAT!! All my pregnancies before were totally healthy, but this one has been scary and a roller-coaster of emotions. I'm high risk, and I have to see a high-risk specialist. My next appointment is to see if my hemorrhage has affected my baby boys' growth, and if it has, he will have to come out. But considering that my hemorrhage is slowly shrinking, I'm hoping for good news on the 28th of this month. That's my next high-risk appointment. I've been following you for years, so I know how much you want this baby. God will make a way. When you're scared and feeling hopeless, pray. He hears your heart, thoughts, and your tears. I'm so happy for you, and I pray that everything will be okay. Hugs and kisses ❤

I personally experienced having a subchorionic hematoma.. they found it around 6 weeks. It continued to grow/spread so I was referred to a perinatal specialist. I had just had a miscarriage two months prior so I was just anticipating the pregnancy to end at any point to be quite honest. I would hold my breath as soon as she started the ultrasound until they found the heartbeat. Every time. I went monthly for these ultrasounds and check ups. It finally resolved by 30 weeks! I now have a healthy and happy 8 month old along with a smooth delivery. Positive thoughts 💕💕 thinking of you

Thank you, Lord, for Your blessings! So glad that things are progressing with your sweet little miracle. I suffered a miscarriage last month at 10 weeks. I didn't go thru IVF so I can only imagine how you must felt. It was hard enough on me. So thankful for your good news. ❤

It’s actually super common! I had a Subchorionic hematoma and bleed real heavy (that gush) out of nowhere at 8 weeks pregnant. I rested for a few days and everything was great the rest of the pregnancy, no more bleeding. I was able to workout and do everything as normal the rest of my pregnancy. It usually is not threatening and will go away or won’t affect the pregnancy. So scary but it will all be ok ❤️

I had some random bleeding around 6 weeks of my last pregnancy and the way you describe the feeling of hopelessness and just thinking of this pregnancy is ending just let it be already so we can move forward. I can relate to that feeling soooo much. And yet by the grace of god Eveeytbing was ok and I ended up having my beautiful baby girl 8 months later 🙏🏻💕 I did not go to the er so I still don’t know what was attributed to it but it sounds like it could have been a hematoma. My sister had one too and her baby was also fine! Best of luck! Think positive and pray ❤️

I can only imagine the scare! I went through fertility treatment and my second pregnancy was very stressful. I started bleeding at 16 weeks. She's 8 now so I forget what they called it but I was at my friends picnic and so I was not able to enjoy it and left early bc I was scared to death. We had 2 previous miscarriages too so I totally understand the scared feelings..being guarded. I remember the feelings like it was yesterday. Praying for you and baby! 🙏

firstly just want to say I'm so happy for you that every thing is ok with the baby and pregnancy looks good.🙏✨ I'm currently 19w and also had a bleed and scare in early pregnancy. I was 5w4d and it was about 12am I went to the bathroom and wiped and saw bright red blood. I wiped a few more times and also saw tiny bits of blood clots. I've suffered multiple losses and I remember calling out to my husband saying "it's over" and he came in and saw the blood. He started to cry but I was just so numb there were no tears. I just couldn't believe it because everything had looked so good and been going so well. I remember being in shock and putting on a sanitary towel and emailing my clinic to tell them I was miscarrying. I asked them should I stop medication. The next morning I fully expected to wake up to a full on bleed and to my surprise it had fully dried up to brown blood. I had an email from the clinic first thing to say don't stop the medication and that bleeding was common in IVF and it didn't mean i'd lost the pregnancy. So I can fully understand and sympathize that if you've had a loss before any blood takes you right to thinking the absolute worst...because you've experienced that. Because I was so early I had to wait 9 days for my first scan at 6w6d where we measured to the day and had a good strong heartbeat and got to hear it🙏...the reassuring thing waiting for that scan was that blood had fully dried up-after the night of the bleed with the smallest bit of brown spotting the next two days and also the morning sickness struck at exactly 6weeks. I've never felt so relieved to feel so terrible. It my case my OB said it could have been late implantation bleeding, due to placenta building or another reason could have been a burst capillary in the cervix. I have a feeling it was the later and it could have been due to straining with constipation after so much progesterone (sorry TMI🤓) There are so many reasons for bleeding that don't mean loss!! Just so delighted for you and praying all keeps going well and you have a happy healthy 9 months.

Caitlyn, sorry to keep commenting but I just have to tell you. You are such a beauty with child. Not sure how this happened but you are looking even younger than you did before you announced your pregnancy. Instead of aging this has made time turn back to when you were pregnant with Scar. Love and prayers sent your way and will continue oh wow 120’s heartbeat. Sweet. Lower rate is usually a boy. I’m so excited. Hang in there Mommy. So glad u and Ty are able to be such a support to each other. Proud of Ty for how he responded to your pain.

Hi! I did IVF 10 weeks before you. I don't know if this will reasure you, but I had bleedings every week between 6 and 11 weeks. The baby was fine and no one knew what really happen. Now I'm 16 weeks pregnant and everything is ok. I wish you the best and hope we all have our rainbow babies...

I had that happen with my youngest when I was almost 13 wks. It was so scary because I thought that I was losing my baby. It just seemed like so much blood and clots coming out. My husband was deployed at the time so I had to message him that I thought I was losing our baby. The nurse in the ER was terrible and before the doctor even saw me said that because I had an abortion 10 yrs prior that I probably was miscarrying. Thankfully everything was okay and he turned 2 in December. I bled with both my pregnancy.

I had a subchorionic hematoma early in my last pregnancy. It lasted about nine days. At the beginning the bleeding was more than spotting, I needed more than just a liner, but not enough for like a pad or a tampon. By the end of the week mark the bleeding was way down and eventually went away. I had blood work done and an ultrasound and everything was fine. My doctor said they don’t know why some women get them but they usually go away on their own and did not cause any risk to the baby. Mine eventually went away by my 20 week ultrasound. By baby is fine and healthy, my delivery was fine and perfectly normal. I did not go through IVF, but figured I’d share my experience anyway. Hope everything is well!

I had one with my first baby- I never bled but they found it on my ultrasound. And my parents’ friend who’s an ob gyn actually said he doesn’t usually say anything to his patients unless they start bleed bc he doesn’t want to alarm them. They noticed mine at 9 weeks and at my 12 week ultrasound it was completely gone- my body re absorbed it. Don’t stress mama!

I actually had this a few weeks ago at the same point in pregnancy. Cramping and then a gush of blood. Went to the doctor the next day and everything was normal and also thought it was a subchorionic hemtatoma. The active bleeding stopped the next day and then it was just spotting for a couple weeks, but no more cramping with it after. This is a natural pregnancy and I’ve heard it is super common at this point. 9 weeks and 2 days now with my 3rd now!

Between my first and second babies, I miscarried at 12 weeks. It was awful. With baby #3 I started spotting around 8 weeks. I immediately thought miscarriage. Got checked out, full ultrasound and everything and they ended determining it was implantation bleeding. Baby #3is now 10. Hang in there. ❤️
