Hey Ruby, we were just there Sunday through today. Awesome video! Cost was 21 per night. We didn't pay resort fees or parking due to being gold members. We saw the Tournament of Kings but had to leave early due to the smoke from the fireworks. Or maybe it was an allergic reaction to the horses. But it was a good show, and the food was good We also did 2 for 1 buffet at Excalibur with my Vegas rewards. Oh, the show was free for us too with Myveags rewards. 80K points for a ticket. Also went to tap and used 25 off 50 w my Vegas. Had the burger, which was huge, shared the sundae which was great. I think you can get better value elsewhere if you don't have a discount. $20 for a burger is high. Shakeshack right outside NYNY had a great burger.

i generally avoid luxor/excal/nyny. i think park mgm has the best bang for the buck with mgm grand close 2nd. (when it comes to mgm properties).

My goodness, it’s not changed since I was there in 2016 😮 it used to be great in the 90’s but it’s certainly very dated. I’m hoping to see Mac King who is the only plus left for this property imo. ❤

My dad and brother stayed there about 2 weeks ago and they said the same thing. Nothing special, but nothing bad. Excalibur property is actually a lot of fun to me as well. I just would not spend time at the pool. I was told if smelled like a sewer around the pool area.

Thanks for continuing regular casino resort content on the channel. A lot of people just stay on slots now as guess easier content but thanks for continuing. Resorts and standards change over time so always worth revisiting couple years later also

Stayed there back in May because the rates were $100 less than any other MGM property. It wasnt bad! Location was better than I thought and the food court/budget eats options honestly made it a nice home base.

7 years ago is when I first stayed at the Excalibur i was in vegas for 4 nights cost me less than £200 I got my resort fee comped so was happy the Excalibur is always my go to hotel when I’m in vegas

Stayed at Excalibur in April in a 2 bedroom resort tower suite. We had zero complaints about the room. We also had the view of the pools and mountains, preferred that to a strip view. Going back next May and already have reservations and requested the same rooms.

Clean and quiet is all I care about. Excalibur is an excellent value, and frankly I love how cheesy it is. Would I suggest they build somethin like that how a days? Not a chance. But that's a budget hotel for ya.

No one will argue that the rooms are basic, but they are often half the price of other MGM properties. My Royal Tower room was clean and comfortable, and I got over the dated decor knowing I saved about $400. The cheap eats at Excalibur are fine for the price, lunch at Buca is reasonable, and Dick's Last Resort has the best pork chops around. Oh, and having Thunder From Down Under at Excalibur doesnt hurt my feelings either. 🙃 😈🏳️‍🌈👬😁 Oh, and for those who are clammoring for the hotel to be torn down, be careful what you wish for. They'll just build a new resort that is triple the price.

I get comped at Excalibur and Luxor, and like each place just fine. I’m not in Vegas to evaluate the wallpaper in the room. Excalibur’s rooms are clean, with everything you may need. The Sportsbook has fun people working there, and the buffet is actually quite good.

The fact that they have in-house shows/entertainment like Tournament of Kings and Thunder From Down Under make the hotel stay that much more worth it. I recently stayed at Paris after having it on my bucket list and it wasn’t nearly as fun (or economical) as my stay at Excalibur.

@sussybakas7262 There seems to be a growing belief among a group of people that if we can't, or are unwilling to spend at least "X" dollars on what they believe on a "superior" hotel that we don't deserve to even vacation in Vegas. I'm with you. As long as it's clean, I have little desire to inspect all the furniture and accessories beyond a general cleanliness. Lord knows I've been in more expensive hotels with worse housekeeping. The classism when it comes to Vegas resorts is so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Thank you for a review of a very basic hotel and basic room. Not everyone wants to spend three or $400 per night at a fancy property. You can enjoy Vegas just fine at the Excalibur, and all the money you save can be spent on food and gambling and shows. The prices are incredibly low and MGM rewards routinely comps me 4 nights. In September, with my comps I could stay here five nights for $196 including all taxes and resort fees. That’s an absolute steal. You can’t stay at a Motel 6 that cheap, and here you are staying at a major hotel resort on the strip!

We stayed at New York New York the summer of 1997, a few months after it opened, and spent most of our time in Excalibur. I have never stayed in the hotel there, but it has always been considered a "budget" casino. I didn't get the impression of cleanliness and "new" even back then. We really enjoyed the tournament and, like you said, the food was okay. We are headed out in Novemeber and don't really need luxury, but we do want comfortable and clean. I like the location of Excalibur with the 4 corners walkways, especially during summer. The rooms appear to have gone without much updating in the past 35 years or so.

We just stayed there this past weekend in a wellness room, floor 14. It was a strip view. The room was fine. No issues there. Our only issue was we parked valet and our car was parked in the sun. I recommend self parking in the garage.

Thanks Ms. Ruby. I really appreciate you reviewing the older and lower end properties. I stayed here about 18 years ago and had a great time basing out of the location. Surprisingly (or not) it looks pretty much the same. I stayed cheap, because pretty much all I did was sleep and shower at the room, then was out all day and get in about 3:30 am. My body was on EST so it felt like 12:30 am. Coming home was a killer though. Appreciate all your reviews !! Keep up the great work !! 🙂

I stayed there two weekends ago. The room was clean and not too bad of shape. Only problem was shower was slow to drain, but not a big deal for me. I asked for a high floor and got a room in the Royal Tower, 27th floor good Strip view. I was a Happy Camper and would stay there again. 🙂

I regularly stay at Excalibur. I know it gets a lot of hate because it's older but you can't beat the price. My family enjoys the vibe and the casino floor is really cool. We love the bars especially the lounge as they have live bands. We always stay at the Resort tower as it's a quick trip to the Pool which is AWESOME! Excalibur has one of the best pool complexes in Vegas so if you're into that it's a great casino. The restaurants aren't the greatest and if you're looking for a swanky casino this isn't the place for you. It's a non pretentious lower end casino which I think is perfect for family's and people that don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a room

I’ve always had a soft spot for the castle, but on one stay, I found a dead cockroach under the bathroom vanity. Better than a live one I guess. On another stay, water poured through the bathroom ceiling light onto the floor and I had to move rooms, and I suspect I got bedbug bites there (though I also stayed at Park MGM that trip) You’re correct that there are other budget properties that provide a more pleasant experience.

Hi CM, had to laugh when you found a dead cock roach under the bathroom vanity, brought back memories of visiting Florida when the girls were 7 and 5 years old, we were on a flydrive holiday from the UK @ 35 years ago, we got the car and drove to Kissimeere where we booked in one of the big hotel chains for the first 3 nights, with it being our first night decided to have a look around, something to eat and then have an early night, we got back to the room wich was kinda like in the grounds, the 4 of us were very tired after a very long flight, we dumped the cases on the floor got a shower and ready for bed, I then heard an all mighty scream from my wife, the youngest was flat out asleep ontop of the bed, with just her briefs on, and there was this thing, put it this way we have cockroaches in the UK but nothing like this monster that was crawling across our 5 yo daughters back.whie she was sound asleep Thinking back I was sure it was black and the size of a small bird @4 inches long, but it was a cockroach that flew in from the trees, we packed our cases and went to reception to change to a room nowhere near the trees and was told the house maid had probably left the patio doors open, and it was a common thing that happened as the trees are full of them called a Florida Palmetto bug., when I got back home I researched it it came up as up to 2 inches in lenth, I am so sure it was nearer 4 inches in lenth,easily 5-8 times bigger than a Uk cockroach, I know the Queen Bee can be double or bigger the size of a worker, just wondering if this was the King of the cockroach's lol. was a great holiday by the way.

Great video. Usually when I go to Vegas every few years we would stay at Excalibur because I love the medieval theme and the room rates are good. When the kids were small we were able to get away with just 2 rooms. Now they are older and want their own beds it is more of 4 rooms. Multiply that with resort fees, food, and some entertainment and that would add up to a big family vacation. Wish Vegas would get rid of at least the daily resort fees, parking fees. But that is prob never going to happen.

For the price, I could deal with the smells. The cheesiness was a feature, not a bug. The food wasn’t an issue. Where I drew the line was having to deal with a cockroach in my room. To add a note, the x-caliber is currently being remodeled I believe, and if you haven't stayed in one of the newer remodel rooms you will within the next three to six months because that's when they estimate they're going to be done there working I believe on the resort tower now putting the finishing touches on it and the Royal tower is next

The comment you made at the end about the casino smells was the biggest thing for me. It’s a real turn off for me to get hit with the odors some casinos have. I appreciate you mentioning this since it’s one of the things that doesn’t come through from just seeing the properties. Others are friendliness of staff and distances between resort amenities.

Been to Excalibur 3 times I think now. (From the UK) we found it good value for our room size, has a pool, staff are polite and enough to do in the casino, and easy to get food and Starbucks in the morning and at night. Not too far away from the rest of the strip, either walk or get the monorail. All in all, I liked it.

I visited Excalibur most times i vacationed in Vegas, only stayed there once, in 1993. My room was nice, probably on the level of Holiday Inn or Best Western; nothing really fancy but a good, comfortable bed. Granted, the resort was all of two years old at the time. The casino is nice but I always found the X layout confusing. Until you pay attention to what’s along the outer wall, it’s very easy to get turned around. I think my favorite Excalibur memory was in 2001. I stayed at the Aladdin that time, but i had gone to see a late show at Luxor. It ket out around midnight and i took the walkway back through Excalibur. There was a Krispy Kreme donut shop right where the walkway ended on the Excalibur side…and they were cooking donuts. You could smell them about halfway along the walkway. I bought half a dozen. Had a couple once i got back to my room (They were still warm.) had the rest for breakfast and a snack the next day.

I’ve stayed here 3 times and every time I’ve had no issues. You pay for what you get and I know it won’t be top end - all I need it for is to sleep - change & shower. I don’t fly for 10.5 hours just to be impressed by a room. The hotel is in a great spot with 3 other hotels in close proximity. Plenty of food choices in the hall as well.

Hi m8 10.5 hours flight sounds like the same for me must be a Gatwick flight, I have been to Vegas 4 times before but always stopped at the Flamingo or the Linq, oppisite end of the strip.Thinking along the same lines as you as I want to go in November on a solo poker trip and Exaclibar is coming in@£200 and £400 less than the rest of the lower priced hotels on the strip I intend to be walking home in the early hours @3 or 4 in the morning, I know the top end of the strip seems fairly safe at that time but whats your thoughts at the bottom end walking the streets @ the Excaliber area in the early hours cheers.

Good video, Ruby. The Excalibur was the first Las Vegas hotel I stayed in. I was there in January of 1997. That's when New York, New York opened. They were charging $ 1K. to ride the roller coaster with David Hasselhoff.

I was so skeptical of this hotel a few years ago, I stayed here in 202 because it was my husband dream hotel, let me just say that I was actually browned away with how good this hotel is, the rooms were clean and comfortable, loved the pool, amazing food options and IMO a great location closer to some of the iconic things in Las Vegas, I know there’s nicer hotels, but for the people who want to go to Las Vegas in a small budget this is an amazing choice! I’d definitely recommend it ❤

Excalibur was my go-to when I first started getting comp rooms. Never had an issue with the room, it did the job, although I've been staying at Luxor lately (I've had good luck getting upgraded to the Tower). If they're remodeling, I think they should be making the resort tower the better of the two since it has the better strip view. The worst is a "castle view" where all you see is the other tower. I still like the vibe of the casino, although I wish they still had Let It Ride. There always seemed to be a fun group playing.

Agree. I have stayed there and if you are just needing a place to stay it's fine. If your heading out at like 2pm and not getting back to the room until 2 am it's fine. Stay at the Royal tower and Uber and Lyft are right at the elevators

I first stayed there in 1995. Last time I was there for a convention in 2019. As she said, It's a very tired property. My room was at the very end of a dank hallway. If you're just going to sleep and shower in your room it's not bad. I've spent 3 times for rooms in Vegas while at conventions and still just slept and showered in it.

This casino has been “standard”, since I first walked into the building in 1991-But some people like standard. The new Buffet is good. The pool area is nice, and the food court is ok.

Had a great time seeing the Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Harrah's. Will definitely check it out at Excalibur next time I'm in Vegas.

My biggest issue with Excalibur is that it has the window air conditioner setup and those get pretty noisy. I felt like the bed was comfortable and I didn’t mind the room shabbiness. If not for the air conditioner, I would stay again since it is a pretty cheap place to stay.

I just stayed there this past Saturday and agree with you about the old AC unit. I had to pop AirPods in my ear to block the sound out.

Great review on Excalibur! Any chance you could do an updated review on Crockfords? I just stayed there and they made some changes I feel like people should know about. I stayed there last year and it was an incredible experience. This year it was still great, and I would stay again. I was just disappointed with the changes if you are staying in a regular room. If you’re in a suite, you get the same experience we got last year. I feel like people should know what they are getting when deciding to pay the extra for Crockfords over Conrad. Thanks for all you do!

We stay at Excalibur almost every time we are in Vegas. We get treated well, like the location and not having to walk too far for other casinos within the MGM rewards program. Most times we are comped and try to take advantage of it. The rooms are ok but we are not fancy people and work just fine for us. Never have had an issue and live the quirky themed casino. Side note: stayed at Mirage and loved it but missed the fun, older Excalibur.

Went to the jousting tournament there. Dinner was included. We really enjoyed it. This was years ago, not too long after they opened.

Excalibur wasn’t bad at all! My husband and I stayed their in October while attending VGK games. We had a basic room booked and they gave us a free upgrade with a view and spa tub. It was a nice room for $40 a night.

They had that Merlin and Dragon show in the front. It was fun to watch and I miss it. 😢

I had a 4 day stay at Excalibur. Housekeeping was not great. When I checked in There was dried food on the carpet. And other issues with the carpet. The pool was excellent. I would stay again. Cheap. And great location.

We went to that Tournament of Kings type thing in LA - thought it was going to be a bit crap - nope - was so awesome! We had the best night!

Even you can't get comped, this month of August for the majority of Sunday thru Thursday night are only $21-23/night but not $70, you go to NYNY across the street, even their lowest rate is still $50/night, and mgm grand is about the same but only with studio tower king (former west wing)

I've got a trip booked there in October. Excalibur sounds like it's not a bad choice at all!

Fair and honest assesment, Ruby. Hopefully the supposed renovations will help. My kid loves Excalibur and its proximity to NYNY make it bearable if we are comped.

Honestly if Excalibur would put new carpeting in it would make a world of difference.

I went through a King Arthur phase after reading Mists of Avalon so I really wanted to stay there. Thank you for doing pool reviews, pools are VERY important to me
