"I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about, Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are better left unsaid. I'd like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words, and it makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a grey place dares to dream. It was as if some beautiful bird had flapped into our little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free". I've been following (and donating to) PFC for years also. I'm 69 and not ashamed to say that nearly every one of their videos makes me weep, the ones with children smiling and singing and dancing tears at my heart no matter how many times I watch. Two of my favorites are "Love Train" with Jason Mraz and "Love Is All" with children playing and singing. "Love Is All" shows an African children's choir and there are two boys wearing yellow shirts that make me hope their smiles never fade. I just replied to a guy on another thread that the music will outlive us all which is a blessing to the future. Peace

It is my belief that those of us who feel so very deeply in our hearts and cry when we see and hear these videos that these beautiful people from all around our world play and sing, is because we know that all it takes is to realize that we are all one and that if we simply love, accept, listen to, understand, show compassion, kindness, not judge, help and support one another, we can overcome the evil that is trying so hard to destroy us all and our planet. Now, more than ever, we must allow love and compassion to shine unconditionally! Our future generations and our planet depend on us all. Thank you, PFC for being a positive example and bringing so many of us together! In the beginning, they weren't recording individual performances and mixing them later. For Stand By Me, the first artist played alone. Then another artist in another part of the world would listen to the first solo player, and join in with his/her part after a bit, making it a duet. Then as the song progressed, the third, fourth, fifth, etc. would listen and add their part, until in the end, it was literally a choir of hundreds of instruments and vocalists performing together. I don't know if they still do it that way, but that's how they used to do it.
@dlanska2 жыл бұрын

Thank you for making this available to the world. I listen to it periodically throughout the year and it always pulls on my hearts strings and makes me think of all the love, the love I have, the love I hope for and the love I lost because as stated, the song is about connectedness in people and there is no greater connection than love.

I've lost a friend whom I've grown up with for almost 40 years... still searching for him for 2 years...me and his family. This gave me hope that he's not lost forever

The part at 2:52 is so delightful. As a Jordanian citizen this is such a sweet surprise. I also love the fact they sang in Arabic AND it was THAT good and blended well with the song. I am elated!

I am a 70 year old American man and this song made me cry like a baby, every part was SO beautiful and you are SO right about the Arabic singing blending in, it is like it was meant to be that way. Peace be to you, and to the world.

The collaboration of PFC artists around the world is brought together with a beautiful mix of music, it's amazing that the Red Cross has joined in fighting for humanity. How beautiful the world would be if humans without distinction of ethnicity, nation, language, religion, poor and rich, that is actually love and peace. 👍🏻💝💐🙏🏻 Music is a part of life 🎶 💙💗💜💚🎵
