I think all vehicles should come with an E-brake like the old Truck Tractor emergency hand brake, that you could twist the adjuster on the handle to adjust the E-brake. That system is awesome. For those that have never seen them, It was a hand brake, and If your E-brake started getting to where it didn't work, you just twist the top of the E-brake handle and it adjusted them to where they would. If you adjusted them to tight, you wouldn't be able to pull the E-brake until you twisted the handle back and loosened them up a little. You could adjust your E-brake in 5 seconds while sitting in the driver's seat. It was genius.

Seeing the batteries wired together to weld brought me back to a trip over the Rubicon back in the 70's. One rig, a Toyota Landcruiser, broke the pitman arm. He was able to weld it up and make it out to Meeks Bay. Then he made it back to Placerville, ordered a new part from Stancils' Toyota, and continued to drive the vehicle to work until the new part arrived. He figured he put close to 500 miles on that trail repair!
