There can be (but not always) separate attack animations for attacks when standing, sprinting, coming out of a dodge-roll, and directly following a hop-back from tapping the [SQUARE] button while standing still. They are good to know so you know what your options are.

Hey man i just watched the whole video. Pretty good i would suggest lowering your equipment load so you can roll faster. The more you play youll realize that dodging is better than blocking.

@1:58:00 Oswald the pardoner can absolve you of your sins. If you happen to accidentally attack a friendly NPC and make them hostile towards you, resting at a bonfire won't fix it. You need Oswald to absolve your sins to make the NPC friendly again. He charges a fee based no your character level. The more you level up your character's stats, the more expensive it will be to absolve your sins.

There are three dodge-roll speeds: Fast, Medium, and Slow (fat rolling). The dodge-roll speed is determined by the ratio between your current equipment load, and your maximum equipment load. If your current equipment load is 25% or less of your maximum, you Fast roll. If between 25.1 and 50% , you Medium roll. If it's between 50.1 and 100%, you Slow roll. If it's above 100%, your movement speed is reduced and dodge-rolling is disabled. Most would like to Fast roll, but the equipment load limitation is too excessive for most, and end up compromising with Medium roll. Your current and maximum equipment load can be viewed from the Player Status menu.

@Lardzor thank you for all the help 🙏 over the vids. I appreciate it. This is super useful information. I also agree that the equip load does seem excessive. i took off every bit of armor, but 1 piece and still was in medium roll halfway tempted to level up endurance or whatever you need for equip load

You actually can jump in Dark Souls remastered. But the jumping mechanic isn't very intuitive. You have to be sprinting (holding down the [SQUARE] button, then release the [SQUARE] button and quickly tap it again. Also, you mostly jump forward, and not upward. So it is useful for jumping across chasms, and not so useful for jumping up onto things. It also makes it impossible to dodge-roll directly from sprinting. You have to take a moment to slow down from sprinting before you dodge-roll or you will end up jumping into an attack instead of doge-rolling to avoid it. I'm not a big fan of having sprint, dodge-roll and jump all using the same button.

@Lardzor yeah it really reminded me of bloodborne's jump system. I'm not a fan either it just feels weird lol
