I suffered from altitude sickness in the Uyuni Salt Flat in Bolivia

Thanks for the great clip! We just came off our 3D 2N tour exactly as you have done, and boy the altitude sickness really hit so hard. We did exactly what you did , we flew into La Paz from London, then 2 hours later, the night bus to Uyuni. So from near zero meters above sea level to 4,700 in less than 24 hours. Never felt so sick in my life, and the next 3 days were really tough! I was sick several times and my head was so bad. You are so right - in giving advice to give yourself time to acclimatise!

I’m sorry to hear that you also had problems with the altitude 😓 I have been thinking about not uploading this video at first because it really didn’t turn out as I had planned since I felt so bad. But then I felt that it’s so important to educate people on this topic because I completely underestimated this! I’m happy you enjoyed the video and I hope you have some nice memories of Uyuni despite having felt sick 🤗

Bolivia tiene muchos lugares bonitos pero creo que no son paisajes muy conocidos ya que no es un país muy turístico. Pero vale la pena conocerlo ☺️

I'm sorry that you experienced altitude sickness, it's not easy to acclimatize the first few days but I'm still glad that you recovered, which was the most important thing and then you had a great time😉. I loved your video, the Uyuni salt flat is wonderful and exact, when When it rains, it turns into the largest mirror in the world. It was also a very good idea to wear glasses because the salt in contact with the sun reflects a lot on your face.

Wow en serio que demasiadoooo vine por el salar de Uyuni me ha llamado la atención por los vídeos .. pero me gustó mucho las lagunas el valle de los cactus y ese paisaje con los flamingos!! Da demasiada paz.. impresionante que no haya ruido.. ni siquiera el viento se oía..😂 muchas gracias alina y sobre todo el esfuerzo aun teniendo mal de altitud qie estes genial y muchos éxitoooos!!!

To travellers,you should start to bolivia trip through Santa Cruz then follow Sucre-Potosi-Uyuni-La Paz. Due to lack of time I had to pass cochabamba, tarija,beni... When you arrive in Potosiz, the altitude will hit you so you better to start drinking coca tea every day.

I think it’s a good idea to start in Santa Cruz and then go up slowly. This is probably the best way to acclimatise yourself little by little as you will slowly go higher and higher :)

Y si... esa zona del Alto Perú es complicada, por eso a mayor altura sobre el nivel del mar, mas presencia de pueblos originarios (en ese caso son los Incas, que hablan quechua) y menos porcentaje de descendientes de inmigrantes europeos En el Sur de América del Sur a ese nuevo país la mayoría le decimos "el Alto Perú" o "Charcas", ya que ese territorio fue parte del Virreinato del Río de la Plata, al igual que Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, el actual norte de Chile y el extremo sur de Brasil (Río Grande do Sul). El nombre que le pusieron luego (Bolivia) es un nombre insólito y ajeno a la zona o región, ya que es el nombre de un militar personalista no de la zona sino de la región del Caribe, muy lejana al lugar y con hábitos muy distintos. Disregard this comment the lack of historic accuracy and just blatant discrimination. This person is trying to minimize the Bolivian culture. First: Bolivia was never called Alto Peru it was nickname given by the La Plata Viceroyalty "population", it was actually called the Royal Audience of Charcas. All the countries in LATAM are new countries. Since they were all born/created after 1810, Both the Viceroyalty of Peru and La Plata were also colonies of the Spanish Empire. Nobody calls Bolivia: alto peru or charcas but peruvians; which are trying to culturally appropriate Bolivians dances and music. Second Bolivian culture is highly influenced by their natives roots and while a big percent (probably 55%) is indigenous. They are not quechua alone: they are quechua, aymara, guarani, tupi, there are Europeans, African and Asian descendants. Bolivia is multicultural but the cultures and nations are mostly native to the land. The loveliest part is: they are not embarrassed or deny to be natives and indigenous and are proud about it. The name of Bolivia is a homage to Simon Bolivar who was one of leaders of the South American wars of independence. Since you're in Bolivia try to visit: Sucre (which was actually charcas) Tarija and La Paz; imho 3 cities worth to visit. If you are more into off the beaten path tourism and adventurous trips: The Bolivian Amazonas jungle is stunning. In Tarija you can find a quite flourishing wine culture and the wine route, the valley of the condors, the canyon of Pilaya (6th deepest in the world) and the biggest natural cactus reserve in South America. In Sucre the city itself is worth to see, the Maragua crater, the toro toro park. Wishing you a wonderful trip and enjoy Bolivia! Greeting from Tx! PS. El nombre actual de ese bonito pais es ridículo, porque no tiene nada que ver con la cultura de la región. No me referí a sus habitantes sino al NOMBRE ACTUAL de ese Estado, quedó claro porque mucha gente comparte la idea. La Real Audiencia de Charcas era parte importante del Virreinato del RÍO de la Plata (te faltó la palabra "rio" en tu comentario excesivamente extenso). Otra cosa: Siempre conviene poner algun/os "puntos y aparte" para hacer mas amena la lectura, más allá que uno no coincida con ella. Saludos.

Absolutamente nadie, además de los peruanos: llama a Bolivia: Alto Peru o Charcas y siempre con la intención de crear un vínculo que les permita apropiarse de la cultura boliviana. Rio de la plata o La Plata es exactamente lo mismo. Algo mas: No es mi culpa que tu traductor no te muestre donde están los puntos y comas o que tengas falencias cuando se trata de leer comentarios "extensos"

Alina mi querida amiga estuvo excelente este vídeo sobre el salar de Uyuni pero también no me gustó mucho verte sufrir el mal del altura que aquí en Venezuela lo llamamos mal de páramo pero veo en un. comentario que respondiste que tomaste te de coca y caramelo de coca ni te hizo efecto pero veo que te recuperaste rápido que dios Todopoderoso te cuide y proteja, besos y abrazos y esperando la próxima aventura en Bolivia.
