Some things I have learned from working with rhinestones: 1. They would rather be upside-down with the flat side up, so you can't grab them with a wax pencil. If you try to flip them over, 9 times out of 10 they will land upside down again. Or jump off the desk. 2. Their favorite place to be is in the carpet below your craft desk, never to be seen again. They will stop at nothing to get there. If you have a hard floor they will bounce and skitter off into the cracks and air vents instead. 3. They will easily stick onto every and any surface, except the one you're trying to glue them onto. This includes sticking to the dog. They will hitch rides and travel vast distances. 4. You will find them later with your bare foot, like tiny Lego landmines.

Fellow artist here. Your art never ceases to amaze me. You are so incredibly talented! I always look forward to your videos 😊 I used to have a huge fear of monsters and the dark, I still somewhat do. I think me being fascinated by creepy and scary things maybe is my way of embracing it. Also the human brain likes stories and fantasies and it gets old seeing the same cutesy stuff always, especially since that is mostly (hopefully) what you are exposed to as a kid. I don't think there's anything wrong with us, we just like all the stories.

Talking about your mom made me start to reminisce a bit about my childhood. Some of my favorite memories involve monster movies and Halloween. My mom is a horror and science fiction author and she made me read Frankenstein as assigned reading over the summer. I even play horror video games with my mom online to this day! It's so interesting how varied a mom's perspective of their adult children can be. I'm still a horror fan and it definitely shows in my taste in art, considering this doll is GORGEOUS ❤️

I find this doll beautiful ❤ and I like your form of art. Your dolls are aesthetically pleasing and harmonious. Yes, they often have some beastial, demonic or alien features, but I think they are beautiful and interesting. Beauty on the verge of ugliness is probably the most appealing to me, because it feels more sharp and fragile… and more alive somehow. Moms are often worried about their talented children 😅. I write poetry, and this fact alone provides my mom with a lot of reasons to worry. Sometimes she is worried because many talented authors ended up passing away tragically and early, and she is afraid about me. She admits that I am good at poetry, and yet she cannot read my poems, because they make her cry. I asked why and she told me: “Your poems are beautiful, but sad and full of pain, and when I imagine that you suffer so much, I cry. Why can’t you write something happy and joyful?” Sorry, mom, I don’t have answers you want 🤷🏻♀️ I write what I write.
@stephanietoler5556 Жыл бұрын
Agreed
@DollAfterlife Жыл бұрын
I think my mum is not actually worried, she just likes drama 😆 But in your case, I think it's good that you're expressing your feelings in poetry, because it's way more dangerous to keep emotions inside. It's a good tool to maintain your mental health. ✊🏻
@kristena5825 Жыл бұрын
If your poetry is anything like your second paragraph then it must be amazing! I write as a hobby as well, and my poor mom would be horrified if I showed her some of my short stories and poems. Beauty is so subjective. I think that only people who have experienced darkness can truly see the beauty in it, because finding that beauty is the reason we can survive.
