That happens to me aswell; the hicupping from spicy food I mean. Quick explanation: I's caused by a compound found in chillies called capsaicin which irritates/ activates a certain type of neuron receptor in the diaphragm enflicting pain (irritation) causing it to contract in turn causing the hiccups. thank you for coming to my ted talk
