Hi Guys. Sorry, no write-up this week. We had an enforced vacation due to some computer problems - difficult to resolve during quarantine and not sorted out yet. Fingers crossed! For our American friends, have a Happy 4th of July on Saturday. I realize it may be a very strange celebration with many or most of you under various restrictions. Being a walking encyclopedia of everything relating to Ritchie Blackmore, this cover was done to absolute perfection. I do love all phases of Rainbow but the DIO era is my favorite. I Surrender was the very first single released with JLT. The album Difficult To Cure, was followed by a massive tour. I seen that tour 5 times while stationed in Germany. Sina as always it is not only a privilege watching you “work” but also an honor. You have this aura about you that is infectious. Thank you for allowing us to share in your phenomenal playing. You and me both. A big poster of Ritchie from the 80s has been hanging on my wall in every place I lived, following me in 7 different countries. Saw him with Rainbow in 81 and 82, with DP in 85, 87, 91 and 93 and again with Rainbow in 95 and 97. The Dio era was vastly superior to every other incarnation of Rainbow, and the JLT poppy stuff like this song cannot compare with Stargazer or Catch the Rainbow but I must admit it, I love anything from the man, even some Blackmore's Night stuff. Hey, I got married to the sound of "The clock ticks on" blasting from the speakers of the huge city hall. The faces of my soon-to-be in-laws, that was quite a show :)) And Sina, she's getting better by the day. What a treat for us :)

Chris Stargazer Chris during the Straight Between The Eyes Tour, I was still in Germany. This time Instill followed them all over West Germany but I had my Canon A-1 camera. Twice I had it set up right on the edge of the stage. I took so many pictures. Got back to the post and got the film developed but had 5 pictures blown up to poster size. Cost me a small fortune but it was worth it to me. 5’ from the man in black was pure heaven. Still have those posters. Got them in my music room at my place in a Florida. 🤘🤘

@@edwardrizzo936 Lucky you ! I took some nice close-up pics of BB King in 95 but never got a chance to get a good one from Ritchie. The SBTE tour was great. I was at the Paris gig (nov. 82), they were awfully late, we had to wait something like 90 minutes after the opening gig (Girlschool, hi octane set, I like those girls) but it was worth it. My personal highlights : the 1985 DP reunion concert (Seeing DP mk II get on stage to the opening notes of Highway star had been my dream since I was 12 and all of a sudden, the dream was very real) and the 1995 Rainbow gig in Paris. It was Halloween so Ritchie got on stage wearing a witch hat and Doogie had a broomstick. The MiB was in a good mood, I could swear he even smiled a couple of times :))

Chris Stargazer I seen DP in 72 when they were on the Machine head tour. I was a roadie for the opening band, ELF featuring Ronnie James DIO. Ronnie is from my home town and I’ve known him since 1970. The 85 reunion i saw was here in New York. Rochester, I had backstage passes since I know Ritchie. Got pics with him and my wife. A couple with Ian Paice. He thought me a lot about drumming way back then. I’m a left hand drummer like he is. Man the stories I could tell. 😂

This was Rainbows biggest hit and if you take the time you will find more than 200 cover versions of it on KZbin alone, including more than a dozen drum covers. Nevertheless it took this performance only 36 hours to make it into the Top 5 of those according to the number of views and I have absolutely no doubt that it will surpass even the others by known and unknown performers within a couple of weeks due to the unique combination of qualities it shares with most (if not all) of Sinas works: Mike´s outstanding production both in visual and accoustic terms, a performance technically unsurpassable but delivered with a seeming effortlessness, delivered with that certain "swing" only seen in a performer that becomes one with the music, and on top of that all delivered by who must me the most charming yet modest and generous person that ever sat on a drum stool. By the way, as the official Rainbow KZbin channel with it´s 98,400 subscribers is reaching a mere 10% of Sina-Drums´ following by now, if I were Richie Blackmore I would be thankful for the extra publicity (hell, even Deep Purple nowadays have only a little more than half of your followers, and rightly so I might add). Rainbow played this song in my very first rock concert in 1982, and I became a life long fan of their music. I saw Ritchie Blackmore perform it once again last year but if I had the choice, I'd rather pay twice the money to see you live it on stage with Andrej. Times change. Thank you for making life bright for me and a million others, Sina and Mike!

I have only been a subscriber for about a month now but would like to share my impression of how Sina plays. When I watch her face I have noticed that she shows no emotion or any appearance of working at what she is doing no matter how hard or how fasts she is playing. She doesn’t actually PLAY the drums. The rhythms just flow out of her like the fragrance from a glass of fine champagne; smooth, effortless and joyful to all. Thanks again Sina, you have made my day.

She's in total concentration. Sina learns, memorizes, records, and posts most videos in about 10 hours spread over 2 or 3 days. She does at least 1 video a week and often 1 or 2 more on other channels. If she smiles it's usually at the end of the song as the Patreon names scroll. Sometimes during the song if she's done something special, or if she's made a slight mistake you may see a micro smile.

Deep Purple was one of my favorite bands back in the day, The album, Deep Purple in Rock ,on 8 track, was my road trip, driving music. They were a big influence on how I played back then and how I play now, its interesting how bands morph into to other bands mixing styles but retaining some of the old band they originally came form. From the 1960s and 70s to Sina in 2020, I never imagined that sound would still be around, thank you ! be safe!

WOAH!!!! Girl, I am a fan of your drumming and your approach towards music. This song is one of my all time favorites, catchy as hell, Joe Lynn Turner's fantastic voice, the harmonies, everything... You just nailed these Bobby Rondinelli fills like it was nothing. I was laughing out loud at around 1:55, because of your wicked smile there, priceless. Trivia: Bobby Rondinelli played the drumtracks for the Scorpions album BLACKOUT in the studio. Hermann Rarebell was said to be on vacation. He had to sit down and learn all the stuff after the release, before they went on tour... Again, great job Hats off and Thank You!
